My two favorite viewpoints on Oahu were the views from Diamond Head and the view from Makapu'u Point -- gorgeous! On a clear, sunny day, you won't find a better view. We stopped at the lookout south and uphill from the Makapu'u Beach Park. Be sure to take your camera.

Walkway is paved but uneven and the incline could become a challenge at points. Walk is 1.5 miles round trip. No restrooms. Bring water. The scenery was amazing! Couldn't resist heading to the coastline in the distance after seeing the view. A must do...kids enjoyed the hike.

This is an easy hike..paved path the whole way up so easy if you have strollers just take your time and bring water..cuz its hot and there are no facilities on this hike. The views at the top are amazing..and bring binoculars as there were many doing some whale watching up there. We noticed when looking over the ridge that there were small wading pools right on the rocky shore that people were swimming in at the bottom of the hill..not sure where the path was but saw people in their bathing suits walking on the path to go down there..we didnt get a chance to ask them but if we werent heading to the beach afterwards that would definitely be a nice place to check out. the pools are essentially fed with fresh water everytime the waves crash over the rocks and some of the water flows into these pools. super clear too ..even from up high.

I've been here twice now, and both times taken back by how awesome the views are. It's not so much of a hike as a paved patch around the slopes near the coastline. You'll see some abandoned bunkers and a light house and some awesome views of the landscape, sea, and beach. Lucky for me on this trip it was Whale season and we could look straight down through the crystal blue water to see two whales swimming along the coast with the occasional blow! Good times and a must stop on your trip!
