Owner description: This is an intriguing geographical spot where the ocean has undercut the lava and drilled a hole through to the top.

This is one of the most beautiful views on Oahu. The ocean is an insanely dark blue and watching the waves crash on the rocks is something to see. This time, I saw a sea lion just floating around out there and I've never seen that before. That was pretty cool. The waves were really big, so the blowhole itself was putting on quite a show. It can be quite windy some days, so hold on to your skirts and your hats. Be patient with the small parking lot. People don't stay long, so you just have to wait a few minutes and one will open up.

Halona Blowhole is a nice place to take some photos and stop for a quick stretch. The higher the tide the better the waves. But if you are looking for a beautiful view, I would drive 5 more minutes east bound to see rabbit island from the Makapu'u lookout.

It is an easy drive from Waikiki, and all of the drive is gorgeous. The blowhole is fun to watch - especially when you are trying to catch it on film! To the left you have Sandy Beach, and to the right a gorgeous lagoon that young people seemed to enjoy. (There are steps leading down).

the halona blowhole is a must to see - easy to find - best to see in the afternoon during high tide. parking lot fill up quick but empties just as fast, its worth about 15 min trip -so if you wanna wait its worth it.

Worth a stop for about 10-15 minutes when going around the island. At the right is Halona Beach Cove aka the "Here to Eternity Beach".
