My husband & I had the opportunity to visit this amazing panoramic overlook in May 2016. Enjoy amazing panoramic views from a north point on Molokai. You'll see a distant view of where the leper colony was located long ago. We'd love to return sometime to see the north side of Molokai via helicopter.

Phallic Rock, well you can figure out probably what the rock looks like...it's located a short hike away. Story goes is that some infertile women have sat on the rock & ended up pregnant. ;)

The overlook is easy to drive to and a very short walk from the parking lot. We got there early so were the only people there enjoying the view. Just beautiful! The clouds were just beginning to clear when we arrived, so good weather to see most everything. (Missed some of the tops of the higher cliffs still in the clouds) It can get really windy up there so recommend a light jacket. Also right across from the overlook path is the pathway to the Phallic rock. Worth the quick hike to see while there, although the path isn't paved and can be a bit muddy/slippery.

The displays tell the story of Father (now Saint) Damien and how he brought compassion to an ostracized people through ignorance.

We wanted to visit the peninsula, but the mules and planes weren't running, and we weren't will to do the hike both ways. At least the lookout gave us a way to see it and learn more information.

Easy drive to the park, easy walk, out to the overlook. Very beautiful! You don't want to miss this view. The first day we went up there it was all cloudy, so we couldn't see anything. We returned a day or two later and it was gorgeous. It's not far to drive to as we were staying on the west end. They have a bathroom there too. Also across from the overlook is a short trail you can walk up to look at Phallic Rock. So you can see two things in one visit there.
