My wife and I did a private Road to Hana tour with Laura in Feb. 2020 along with four other couples (10 total plus Laura, our guide) and it worked out great for us! The Sprinter van was ideal for our group and everyone very much enjoyed the stops we made. Laura was excellent in all areas: good driving, very knowledgeable, and fun! We did the reverse Road to Hana so that we avoided some of the heavier traffic in the morning.

The best thing about using Unique Maui Tours is that our group was the only one on the tour so that we could go on our own schedule and our own pace. We also had the ability to decide if we wanted to make a stop at a certain location or go on to the next site.

We waded to waterfalls, walked on the black sand beach, walk thru volcano a lava tube, viewed sea turtles basking on the beach and enjoyed the best food stops (Laulima fruit stand platter, food trucks, Coconut Glen’s ice cream and best banana bread). The conversation was very enjoyable and there was never a dull moment the entire 10 hour day. I can't imagine doing the Road to Hana any other way!

We had Johnny as our guide for the day and he was excellent in all aspects - good driving, very knowledgeable, and fun! He took us to all the places we wanted to see, offered suggestions and found other amazing stops that we didn't know about, and he was prepared for everything (had supplies that we needed but didn't think to bring). The ride was very smooth and he made sure we could get good pictures along the way. We saw so many beautiful things and got to customize the trip to include the Pipiwai trail too. It was by far the best thing we did in Maui during our stay! I highly recommend this tour and Johnny as a guide!
