Lovely ocean view room! Can see whales from here! Room is very large and well appointed. The only thing missing is a stove but that means meals out for the most part! Staff is welcoming and helpful. There is beach erosion so best to find another spot to enjoy the waves.

Room Tip: Best rooms in my view are on the west side.

We booked two rooms for our trip with friends. We were returning to the resort after many years and this was their first trip to Maui.

The resort has changed but is still a very nice place to stay. The staff was very polite and helpful in everything we needed. Rooms are of a good size and we had a partial view of the ocean.

The grills available to cook on are a nice touch and are used by many of the guest. The pool, grounds and resort are kept up very nicely.

They had just started the beach restoration when we were leaving. It will be interesting to see how this turns out in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again.

Outstanding family vacation. We each had our own rooms. 3 of them
This was an Embassy Suites at one time.
Highly recommended. Great fun and family time.
Only warning. Stay away from the time share sales people. They will offer all kinds of things which can always be done much cheaper if you go off site to make reservations.

The pressure to attend the Owners Update ( sales pitch) at VIP check in tried to ruin our 14 day stay. I refused to give in and did not agree to attend the owner update. I managed to enjoy the beautiful resort and all of the wonder benefits without the pressure of a sales pitch. The employees are wonderful and recognize us when we come back year after year. There are serious issues with beach erosion that the resort is trying to address. But currently it is still a major problem. If you like to cook your own meals on a grill there are 6 available that are well maintained daily. Enjoy Maui but not the sales pitch pressure!!! Good Luck.

Room Tip: The higher floor the better. Unless the power goes out.

I've enjoyed this hotel for almost ten years, its the only hotel I stay at when in Hawaii. First the so called VIP check is the starting point for time share sales pitch. We got to hotel late after flying all day, I told lady walking us to VIP area and lady at check--in desk I did not want sales pitch both said OK. I give them my credit card for room charges and then we are told I need to move to next desk for room key. Guess what this desk was sales pitch I told them NO after 10 minutes finally checked into room. Love the pool, grill and bar personal everyone is great. October 23 a huge storm hit Hawaii knocking out power to Maui, it was off from 2:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Power outage was not hotels fault, they had back-up generator powering two of the six elevators it was all good until 8 AM. At 8 AM the time share sales start and part of sale pitch is look a room 1008. Imagine all the hotel guests using the two operating elevators along with all sales groups going to and from 10 floor. I was on ninth and had to walk up to the 11 floor and come down so I was on elevators before it hit the 10 floor. Not good for owners and guests who had to use these two elevators while future owners received a time share sales pitch.

Room Tip: When booking tell them "Do not Tour"
