Two weeks of rest & relaxing at the Ka'anapali Beach Club on Maui. Enjoyed the beautiful pool and poolside restaurant. Watched many sunsets from the poolside bar and from nearby Lahaina restaurants. Fortunate to stay in an ocean view room; our friends had a mountain that was equally a beautiful view. WE WILL STAY HERE AGAIN!!!

This is a former Embassy Suites hotel. The rooms are nice with sliding doors allowing for an ocean breeze and the ability to hear the sounds of the waves crashing. The staff is very accommodating. They have a number of cooking supplies available if you decide to cook in your room. The pool is large and great for all ages. There is a slide that drops into a separate pool, which was a lot of fun for my family. The fitness facility is nice with several cardio machines and a variety of weights. My family ate at the buffet one morning and enjoyed the food. There is a bar and restaurant (Hula Grill) on site.

We were pleasantly surprised at this time share location. It was like a resort with a beautiful pool & pool landscaping. The lobby is also beautiful and spacious. We had a one bedroom for 4 people but were very cozy. The queen size couch had a memory foam mattress and was very comfortable. There's free laundry facilities on every floor. Free coffee was provided daily--just call when you need more. Even though it didn't have a full kitchen, they sent up complementary crock pot, hot plate & whatever we needed. Staff everywhere are friendly and helpful. There were some minor 'dated' things, like a chip out of the table and wall; but overall very clean and modern looking. There's a grocery store across the street; but Costco 45 minutes away, by the airport, is by far the cheapest. Power went out across the entire island one night but emergency generators provided elevator service, hall lights, and complementary coffee by the pool. They also gave us complementary breakfast that morning. Boy was it hot and humid though! The only downside is the odd hours of entertainment. There was a musician who played daily from 4 pm to 8 pm. He was great; but after dinner there was nothing. You definitely need a car. Strangely, the below tabs won't let me click 5 star for service or sleep quality; but it was.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view

With the humidity in the room your clothes felt wet and the room smelled moldy. You had to keep the windows open during the day. If you didn't it made it hard to sleep. We found this out the hard way. The daily cleaning service was courteous. We had a 12th floor mountain view which was excellent. The happy hour was affordable, tasty and the ocean view couldn't be beat. Nice music there too. Before arriving Maui, I called ahead to the Ka'anapali concierge to book an excursion. I was given a higher price than another company had quoted me so I chose not to book through the concierge. Upon arrival, Tessa @ concierge was very helpful and said not only could she have given me a better price than the excursion that I had booked directly with another company but that with that booking that I would have been able to receive for just $19 an extra vacation at select destinations on the mainland U.S. to be used in the next two years. Ka'anapali shares a walkway to adjacent resorts and is only 5 miles from Black Rock which is a great snorkeling spot. The Old Lahaina Luau is amazing! The transportation to Lahaina, the nearby town is only $4 to and from-well worth it!
