My wife and I have stayed there last summer. This is a lovely location with many things to do. However, they are part of Diamond International Resorts. This time share company is over priced, with heavy dues. We have owned for three years and have only been able to get a room for 5 nights total. impossible to get reservations anywhere. On top of that, we received an assessment only months after we bought. Do not let them talk you into buying!

We do love it here because it is easy to stay here. The one bedroom renovated rooms are nice, and the bathroom is huge. It leaves lots of room for hanging wet, sandy clothes. They also have an easily accessible laundry room.
The pool is fantastic--large and warm with scores of lounge chairs. We never had an issue finding space to hang out and we were here over spring break.
The ocean front really is just that. In other words, the beach is virtually non-existent. The lack of the beach was a disappointment, but we easily picked a different beach every day, packed a lunch, and off we went for the day.
Upon our return, we used the bar-b-cue section for steak and pork loin dinners. As long as you hit it before or after the dinner hour--6-7--you won't have to wait. If you do have to wait, the people are friendly and fun.
We have three teens so the sleeping arrangements are funky, but the staff had no issues with 2 rollaways, extra sheets, and blankets. The living area is large enough to accommodate 2 rollaways and the sleeper sofa pulled out! They do have to all be put away if you want to move around during the day, but we are in Hawaii and we spent little time in the room.
The staff was quick to reply to any requests and our needs were met.
The reason for the 4/5? Lack of a true beach, hotel-feel instead of resort feel, and the kitchen is a partial with little room to fix food.

We loved our stay on Maui. I give this resort a 4 out of 5 just because we had a wonderful time. The resort itself is probably a 3.
The Good:
Rooms -large. Plenty of room to eat, cook, and watch TV. Good coffee machine, decent dishes, very loud dishwasher. Two flat screen TV's one in the living area, one in the bedroom.
Bathroom is huge. Separate shower and tub were good.
Pool- was awesome. It was very warm and we could use it from 8AM to 8PM and still find it warm. It was not crowded and there was always plenty of room to play around in the pool. The hot tub was great, but it is small and would often be packed. The pool with the waterfalls was a hit with my kids. The waterslide was okay, a bit short and slow.
Activity center- great fun activities for kids. Lots are free while some have a fee. You can play air hockey, foosball and ping pong for free. Bowling is $2/person/game. The people there were great. The kids also took hula lessons there.
Parking- self park or valet underground parking is included with the $25/day resort fee
Wifi - worked well, just needed to sign on each 24 hour period to activate a new 24 hours

The Bad:
Room- we had a non renovated room. Carpet was filthy and there were chunks that the vacuum had missed under the tables and beds. Room had a musty smell. The sofa and chairs were comfortable but at first sight they seemed to dirty to sit on them. If you take the approach that you are staying at your family cottage in the woods then you can just sit and ignore all the things that have made the sofa look this old and worn out. The beds are double beds and this was the worst part. They were comfy but small and hard to sleep in if you are used to kings or queens. If you go at a busy time like spring break you will not get a renovated room unless you are an owner at this time share.
View- scenic means view of another building. Some of the rooms will have great views. Many will not. As long as you get what you pay for this is okay.
Bathroom-shower drain was clogged. Called to get it fixed/cleaned. Never happened.
Service- it was okay. Whenever we asked for anything the maid/waitress/waiter etc obliged but seemed to do it begrudgingly. If you phoned down for something they would just tell you to call someone else instead of putting you through to that person. They would also say "we will see about doing that" instead of saying "yes"
Beach-so many rocks. When a wave crashes over you it bashes softball sized rocks against your feet.
If you are not going to spend time in your room then this place is fine. We loved the pool area. and the room was good to eat a quick breakfast and head out to go on adventures. I would probably continue to try staying at other locations.

Room Tip: Right now the rooms on floors 8-12 have been renovated. This way you get new clean furniture and new...

I am treated like a family member and I am know by all staff members. Ther is a dive instructor on the island whom I know. I never have to pay for SCUBA diving.
The rooms are newly renovated.
The pool is also newly renovated.
It doesn't matter what the view is, all are great or at least I have been told so.
I can always get in when I want unlike RCI resort which favor non-owners because they can get additional cash.

Room Tip: Come one, come all. You will not be disappointed! Maybe I should not rate this so high; i mat not...

Staying in the renovated room, may be the most redeeming feature. This property was originally an Embassy Suites, and it is dated. Diamond Resorts still has a lot of work to bring it up to their primary competition. Westin and Marriott To be fair, we are not a good example of "Timeshare" customers.

We also are a long time Maui visitor and we have some preconceived perceptions of "our" Hawaii.

Our room was large (living room with dining area & small kitchen, bedroom & large bathroom). The balconies on all rooms are very narrow, allowing a couple of chairs side by side with a very small table between them, which makes it impossible to acually eat outside, unless you have a plate on your lap. The kitchen includes a nice size frig, dishwasher & microwave. We made the mistake of purchasing eggs to make omlettes for breakfast.....no stove top!
The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean & the service was wonderful. Our TV's, both in the living room & bedroom, stopped working and they replaced one & repaired the other within the hour of calling.
The pool area needs more umbrellas for shade. People were saving the few lounge chairs by umbrellas by 7:30 - 8:00am!
All in all we had a lovely time for the we were there. We stayed the next 6 nights at a timeshare.

Room Tip: The higher you are the better the view.

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your stay at Ka'anapali Beach Club. We regret to read that you have not been pleased with the beach and guests reserving sun loungers have caused you disturbance. We would like to assure you that we try and inform guests that such ‘techniques’ are not welcomed, unfortunately they remain popular. We also regret to read that the size of the balcony was not to your satisfaction – we apologise for this inconvenience. We are pleased to learn however that you had an overall pleasant stay and we hope you will consider us for your future bookings!

We stayed here in March of 2009. The hotel was going through some renovation so some units were new and some old. Ours happened to be old and had a view of the side court yard but was just above some sort of utility room with giant engines making quite a bit of noise. If possible avoid this side of the building.
The unit we booked was a one bedroom condo. It was quite decent, small kitchenette was adequate for our needs (we travelled with a one year old at the time and did not feel like keeping him strapped in a high chair in a restaurant three meals a day), the living room had ample space for a one year old to crawl around and we did not feel lacking space that we most likely would in a hotel room with a small child. The price of the unit was what an average hotel room would be at the time so we felt it was quite a good deal.
The grounds were nice, the pool was great, the small beach was nice and clean. The main restaurant was overpriced but the food was decent. Our main problem was that there was not much to walk to from the property so we had to get in the car and drive to the main part of the Ka’anapali beach where major hotels are.
Bottom line: it is a great choice if travelling on a budget or feeling like you do not want to spend way too much money on overpriced hotel breakfasts.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms above the little Koi pond. Too much noise.
