We took the 4-hr QS trip this morning. The crew, were young and enthusiastic, helpful, fun and very friendly. Captain was very experienced, with a great sense of humour and gave history of the island and of the sea life. There were less fish at Molkini than I recall from 20 years ago, but this trip was fantastic for my 2 kids, aged 9 and 12. They were blown away, by not only their view of Molokini, but also the turtles at Turtletown, the dolphins that swam right with the boat (only feet away from you) as well as the breaching whales on the way in.

The will remember this, as will we all, forever. And the food was fine (hamburgers, fruit, chicken) with beers and mixed drinks being served after both snorkel sights at a buck a drink. Soft drink and all other food was included. We took the Timeshare presentation, which was simple and no pressure, and got the whole excursion for $80. I think it would have cost $450 otherwise.

So, although my wife and I do scuba, his was a fantastic all-inclusive experience for our family. My kids would do it again tomorrow, and we'd go too.

This was so much frun for our family! The crew was very knowledable and friendly. The staff made sure you were taken care of 110% of the time. The breakfast and lunch was delicious. They took us out to Molokini then to Turtle Town, afterwards they took us further south to give us the history of Maui. It is a wonderful experience for the entire family.

A friend of mine and myself travelled to Molokini on the Maui Diamond II (Highly recommended!) through Maui Dreams Dive Co. (Also Highly Recommended!), and the diving was great. Visibility was superb and the assortment of sea life was huge.

We had heard that Molokini is one of the top 10 snorkeling spots so even though we had found excellent snorkeling off the beach near our condo in Kihei, we booked an excursion with Trilogy. The boat and crew were great. On the return sail the Captain noticed a whale watching boat hanging out in one area and headed straight for it adding whale watching to our trip for free! Also, there was only 20 or so people on board so we were not crammed in like sardines and Captain Anthony even let a couple of passengers steer.

The reef at Molokini was so disappointing. After Molokini we went to "Turtle Town" which is a reef off Maluaka Bay near Westin Maui Prince Hotel. Which is just down the road from Kihei! Wish we had known that before we spent $250 for a boat ride. At Turtle Town we swam with at least 6-7 different turtles which was awesome and made up for the lackluster reef at Molokini. We saw all the same coral and fish at Turtle Town plus the turtles. Please keep in mind that while the turtles they don't mind people, you need to give them some space (10 feet or so) as they must breathe air regularly and if you hover too close or above them they will not surface and could drown.

...because we didn't get to snorkel!

We paid for a snorkel excursion, and after the boat ride out there, they said it was too windy and not good conditions to snorkel. So we basically paid for a round trip boat ride where we ate a few hot dogs along with 50 other disappointed tourists.

If I had known of the huge possibility of not being able to even get into the water, I'd have skipped the trip all together and just stayed at Black Rock for snorkeling (see my other review for the Sheraton).
