“A must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014 via mobile

here I swam with a giant sea turtle, the biggest stars n stripes puffer, a small octopus, two small dolphins, many assorted tropical fish ...very beautiful. But the corals are damaged from the many people who snorkel here. Overall .I'd go again.

“Amazing place, must do type of thing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

My experience at honolua bay was fantastic. The snorkaling is world class, but you need to swim out at least 20 feet out and then to the right to find the coral. There are lots of turtles, fish, eels, octopus, and we even saw a manta ray (highlight of the trip). I highly recomed going early to beat the crowd and tour boat, and the water will also be clearer if you go early. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!!!!!!

“Wonderful Snorkeling! Go Early!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

Get out of bed at least one day! Limited parking, so go early. Great area for snorkeling right off the shore. Many of the same fish you see at the aquarium in Maui. Swam with one big turtle, too! Don't miss this. Snorkel as many bays as possible in Maui to catch the right conditions. The fish will go where they want, this isn't a zoo. No facilities here, but D.T. Fleming Beach just down the road has parking, facilities, showers, lifeguard, shade, beach, grass and picnic tables. Snorkel Honolua and visit D.T. Fleming beach on the way back. You won't be disappointed.

“Beautiful Walk In”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

Parking was not a huge issue for us in the lot or along road. The walk to the Bay is wonderful. My wife and I love to take photos and it was wonderful. The bay is great for snorkeling. The area by down by the bay is privately owned and a little dirty. This did not take anything away from the walk in or the bay for us. If your lucky there is a buy up on the overlook who sells barbecue and it is really good.

“Magical spot on the island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

In the summer and when the waves aren't up in winter this is one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. Be careful on the rocks at entry, enjoy the chickens and roosters, don't go if it has just rained. Swim as far out on the right side as you can and it will clear up and reward you greatly. Honu cleaning station about 500-600 yard swim out.
