This place was a bit of a drive from the place we were staying (Princeville in the north) but totally worth it! The view was in fact amazing given the sunny day with blue sky. When we were there we met a couple that had been to the lookout twice before and it was the first time they were able to see the view so I guess you also have to be lucky with the weather. Going early in the morning helps!

I was amazed at the views. The cool thing is you kill two birds with one stone. you stop first at Waimea canyon and then once your finished there you head to Kalalau lookout. I am so glad that we did this on the first day. I couldn't have imagined missing this spectacular experience while in Kauai. As I stated with the review of Waimea canyon if you are prone to motion sickness take some non drowsy Dramamine before you go. The windy roads and the altitude can be a troublesome combo.

This is a spectacular location to view the Napali Coast, but get there early in the morning. The morning temperature and humidity is much lower in the early morning. If anyone expects to hike any of the trails make sure you arrive by 9:00 a.m. Additionally, this is the wettest place on earth. It receives more rain tan any other place-several hundred inches a year. To avoid the clouds or the rain, once again, arrive by 9:00 a.m.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!! We saw it from the ocean and the top. Very worth while. Check the weather before you go as the area is know as one of the wettest on earth.

We had taken a helicopter tour around Kauai a few days earlier so we knew what to expect when we got there. We were greeted with a stunning view of... cloud! Hanging around for a few minutes enjoying the peace and quiet was more than worth it, the cloud rolled back to reveal the stunning view down the valley and to the ocean below. The colors are stunning. The cloud rolled back in after a few minutes, we spent about half an hour there in total and had a number of clear moments. Its taken you time to drive up there, take a little extra time to wait for the view! We drove ourselves and had all the time in the world, I'm not sure how long bus tours allow for a stop there. We visited on a stunning clear sunny day, it was baking hot down on the coast at Waimea but lovely and cool up at the lookout.
