Owner description: The isolated beach where the movie "South Pacific" was filmed. It is not a swimming beach but the views are spectacular.

My husband and I were married on this beach! It was a wonderful setting. The trees framing the beach are beautiful. A lovely blend of beautiful water, greenery, lava rocks. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

The beach is located down a hill. It get a little slippery after a rain but there are a few steps to help. The beach is breathtaking.

This is not a beach for swimming because of the strong current, but a good place to relax on its big sand beach. The depth of the sand area is almost 100 yards. The north end of the beach is where the ocean meets the river, with the black rock then the mountain in the background. It is so beautiful.

This beach is where they made the film "South Pacific".

On our way to Ke'e Beach, we stopped at the scenic overlook to see Lumahai Beach -- nice view. After visiting the other north shore beaches, we stopped at the Lumahai Beach parking lot with easy access to the beach and enjoyed gorgeous views of beautiful beach, black lava rocks, and ocean waves with a backdrop of beautiful blue sky. What a beautiful place! This is the beach used in the movie South Pacific -- the place where Mitzi Gaynor as Ensign Nellie Forbush sang "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair." This is a good beach for a stroll or to just sit and enjoy the beauty. When we visited, few others were present -- peaceful and quiet.

Lumahai Beach is really special. It is pristine and secluded. Although the waters are treacherous, we went when it was very calm and safe to swim in (obviously this is not always the case!!). We stayed in the shallow area near the rocks, and it truly felt like a natural wading pool.

There are so many gorgeous beaches to choose from on Kauai, but this was definitely my favourite. Please go and see for yourself!
