Worth a drive to see, go early we were the only ones there. Nice bathroom facility, tons of chickens, my mother and son got a kick out of feeding them some leftover bread we had in the car.

There are so many beautiful waterfalls on Kauai. Most can only be seen from the air. There are a couple like Opaekaa that are an easy drive and can be very beautifully photographed. The falls were easy to get to and close to Wailua. It is also not a bad drive from there to the Wailua Falls - so you get to see two waterfalls. Opaekaa actually looks like three waterfalls pouring over the rock and is very distinctive. The nicest thing about it is that the overlook shows the falls straight on with no obstructions. To get that view (and there is a gorge in front of you), you are a little further away. I recommend a telephoto lens for the pics.

e went up to Opdeka'a Falls and got some great photos. It really is a great drive up pic opportunity. After that, we went over to Wailua Falls. That wasn't as great. Parking was limited (and there was a crowd at 1 pm) and if only two trees/bushes on the cliff were not there...... A good pic, but not as great as it could be.

The falls are a short drive from the main road and it is a good view. This water fall requires no hiking so it is a must see for everyone.

Easy to find, easy parking, short walk. I didn't have a lot of time but from what I could see I dont know if you can access a trail down to the base of the falls.

I saw some great waterfalls in Maui so maybe I am jaded however this waterfall wasn't very exciting. I am sure it is a decent size but from the distance you see it from isn't much to write home about. The parking is easy here and you can walk across the street to get a pretty view of a river and the mountains. It isn't too far off the beaten path so it isn't difficult to get to if you are interested but I wouldn't go out of your way to see just this fall. There are decent bathrooms at the parking lot if you need something on your travels.
