One of our favorate beach spots, cool drive, go early and get a good parking, snorkeling was pretty good, especially when calm. Kind of protected cove type so waves are not bad if choppy. Great views of the beginning of Na Pali Coast line. love it.

After hiking the Na Pali coast, this beach was terrific. Not as good for snorkeling as others, but a pretty site, for it's the end of the road. You must get there by 9am to get a parking spot!

We spent an afternoon on Ke'e beach. It is a good beach with a surrounding reef, which keeps large waves away. We were there as high tide was approaching, and waves were beginning to break across the reef. The snorkelling along the margin of the reef is good for beginner snorkellers. The view from up the beach of the Napali coast is very good and would be great at sunset. You have to cross several one lane bridges on the drive there and we had to park well up the road as the main and overflow parking lots were full. Walking down to the beach, we passed on of the nearby caves - the one closest to Ke'e is full of water and not accessible. The overflow parking lot is rough and is best for a vehicle with lots of underbelly clearance.

My husband and I went to Ke'e Beach on a weekday morning in late February. It was winter, so the sun didn't hit the sand until after 10 AM. It was a bit breezy in some spots and this kicked up a lot of sand. The inlet areas of the beach are not as windy, so sit there. If you walk down to the eastern side of the beach, you can see the fantastic Na Pali coast from the beach. It's a great backdrop to enjoy the day. Plus, there aren't so many people there. It can get pretty crowded at the main entrance by the parking lot and lifeguard stand. The snorkeling at the main entrance to the beach is pretty good although the water was a bit murky since a big tropical storm had just blown through the day before. I saw two sea turtles and many fish in the lagoon not far off shore. There are currents, so be careful!

Especially during the winter this beach may closed to snorkelers due to storms. If you are going to snorkel here, check to make sure it is open before you drive all the way there. There are lifegaurds on duty depending on the time of day.
There is road construction on the highway leading to Ke'e Beach and the traffic can be very slow.
We saw numerous whales from Ke'e Beach and the waves were beautiful. There had been a lot of rain in the area but the ocean was still blue unlike many other beaches that we passed.
We did a small hike from this beach but there are lots of trials in the area. The view down to the beach from higher up was beautiful. We also got some good pictures of the locals surfing.
