Walked the 1 mile trail from Hapuna Beach to Mauna Kea Beach. Very pleasant. The beach is beautiful along a rocky shore, yet perfectly safe.

Beautiful beach in a beautiful area. All facilties there and decent snorkeling. Buying a drink is VERY costly at roughly 15 bucks US per cocktail. Limited public parking but Maune Kea resort will valet park you for the cost of a tip. Get your slip validated by an employee at the beach (which was eay) and you will avoid a 45.00 parking fee. Blue green water and gently sloping from shallow to deep. Soft sand and very clean. This is worthy of a visit for sure.

This is one of our favorite beaches on the Big Island. Nice soft sand, nice waves. Not as long or large as Hapuna but worth the trip. We usually try to get there by 9am. It is an hour drive from Kona. Today we arrived at 9:10 a.m. and we were turned away "lot full". What a bummer I can't believe it. So off to Beach 69 since we're were in the area.

If you are looking for a lovely white sand beach with great waves to body surf, this is the place. Not a dangerous beach like so many of the other beaches we visited, this one had fun waves to play in. The white sand was silky smooth and the area was beautiful. Well worth the visit!

Mona Kea hotel has very limited parking to provide access to this"public beach"!!! It is definitely controlled like it was their property.. They are probably just barely following the law!! During high season get there before 10:00 am to get a parking pass. We managed to get on the beach 1x out of 4 attempts!! All whining aside, it is a beautiful beach, with easy access to the hotel beach bar!!!
