Nice collection of Southern art in a lovely setting. The gift shop is a great place to buy souvenirs and gifts from the area.

“Great Local Asset”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

William S. Morris III, owner of The Augusta Chronicle and a major media conglomerate, assembled this collection over the past few decades. It was basically a gift to the city, because admission cost is extremely low (free on Sundays) and the collection is superb. Not to be missed by visitors to Augusta.

Artists of the south. We went on a free admission Sunday. Nice hotel across the street that has a good restaurant. Lovely museum to visit if you are in the Augusta area.

“Good for a city this size”

This has a good collection of American art, particularly centered on Southern/folk art. Some of their traveling exhibits are quite good.
