I have been to Big City Bread a few times and each time I like it more. The chef/owner offers some unique dishes. This past weekend he offered a rabbit dish that was amazing (I had never eaten rabbit before). This restaurant is much more than coffee and pastries.

They also have an egg, greyer and ham biscuit that is Athen's best IMHO,

My wife and I ate here twice during our two days in Athens(one breakfast and one dinner). What a find. Locally owned, fresh ingrediants, creative and well executed dishes. Had the Arugula, Prosciuitto, Parmigiano Reggianno salad, the Zuchinni and Feta flatbread, the Vegetarian Ravioli, the Gruyere topped burger. Clean, quiet, cafe atmosphere. Loved it.

Went for lunch and tried the soup and sandwich combo. Bacon lettuce and tomato was ok but the supposedly homemade tomato goat cheese chive soup tasted like jarred mArinara sauce with a crouton and a bit of cheese crumbles on top. This was by far the worse tomato soup I have ever encountered. Advice, do not bother eating here.

Athens has many places to eat breakfast at but none of them beats the atmosphere and quality of Big City Bread. A lot of reviews say it's not worth the money but I think the breakfast biscuit is the best homemade biscuit you will find. We even had their chocolate chip oatmeal cookies at my wedding for favors. Coffee is great. Great date place.

Been going here for years, never had a horrible experience but bang for your buck?- Not the place to go. It's a great place to chill on a sunny day, be outside and feel the Athens vibe. Jitterys coffee with their baked goods is a win win, but their food is overpriced.
