The State Botanical Garden has so many environments to offer. You can walk through a rose garden, shady forested landscape, European-style elaborate herb garden, an indoor tiny rainforest complete with little stream. There are acres of enjoyment awaiting. I loved to take my 2 yr. old there for strolls back in the day. Now, I love going there for strolls that always reward with a sense of peace. It is a beautiful place to experience. Also has a gift shop, if you like.

Stay for lunch, take a class, or a hike through the acres of grounds, view the gallery. or get lost in the indoor tropical forest. It is well worth visiting for every season of the year. A great teaching facility also.

This is a special place for my nine year old , three year old granddaughters and me. There are meandering walking paths with surprises around the corner regardless of the season. You not only have a green house to walk through, a cafe for a snack, a gift shop to purchase a little something special, a building for seminars and even a day chapel that is available for weddings. Since this is a botanical garden, all sorts of plants are in an environment to help the home gardener know better how to use the plants they purchase. Different seasons have special areas..daffodils are in bloom now with the azaleas and camellia to follow..There is a special area set aside for annual plants plus examples of historic plants and plantings.. A great place for an hour or two for for an entire day...One of our special places,

The gardens are maintained by the University of Georgia horticultural students. Lovely grounds. The hot house has a fresh food cafe with a tasty menu.

I really enjoy Botanical Garden in Athens. It is great place to have a relaxing walk and just learn about plants and listen to birds. All advanced and amateur hikers will enjoy trails of different difficulty. New cafeteria offers some basic lunch (salads and sandwiches) and variety of beverages. The Garden is free to access that is a plus.I hope all guests will stop by visitor center leaving small donation to support this unique place in Georgia.
