“Open 24 hours and some”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Having driven to Athens late at night where most of the restaurants in the area had closed, we settled in to The Grill, located in the center of downtown Athens, for its convenience and availability of food, at this time in the night. The Grill seems be bit run down and would seem a bit dirty but it has the old charm feel of the years passed. Every wall consist of old memorabilia of many of the iconic fast food brands in America, You would not find the happy days gang here but you feel that you had just stepped in to that era in time.

We were greeted by a friendly hostess and shown to our table. Upon sitting there, the server came by and took our orders for drinks. A few minutes later drinks were on the table and we were ready to order the meal. They do have a good selection of food for meat lovers as well as vegetarian selections to order. The potions of food is a lot and for the price you pay, it is a bargain. The food was tasty and well prepared.

Overall, I would consider to eat here again, if I came to town this late. I have yet to try the other restaurant in the area. I term of cleanliness, this is not a five star restaurant. If you want a quick bite for a great bargain, this is your restaurant. This restaurant does have cleanliness issues, but if you are willing to put that aside, you might have a good experience. I have not seen the back of the house for cleanliness but I only hope it is well kept for the sake of the customers.

“Great fries and authentic cherry coke!”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

This place is perfect for a good priced meal. If you wanna step back in time and pretend you are on a set of Alice or Happy Days this is the place for you. A platter includes a drink which is a great deal. I got the patty melt they like to overcook the meat and I don't like well done dry charred burgers so that was the only letdown. The fries are great! Cherry coke is made with grenadine which tastes so good! Definitely like the atmosphere and the diner nostalgia is def hip. Def a late night spot since they are open 24 hours. The health code score is prob horrendous and I didn't seem to care because you expect that from a guy with gauges, ink and a Mohawk making your meal!

“Good deal”

Fabulous hamburger platter with drink. $8 and change for full meal. Waitress was on the spot. Everything served on time and good and fresh. Highly recommend this for seeing some of the downtown college life.

“Cold Food and The Hair is Free”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

Horrible service. We waited an hour for our breakfast and when it arrived it was cold. Two of the dishes had hair in them. The server gave attitude when we sent back one of the plates. The head cook came out, apologized and comp'd one meal. Apparently the cooks were new. I'd recommend waiting in the long line at Mama's Boy.

“old school”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

This place is what it is, a 24 hour diner. The food isn't anything special, but its not bad and there is a lot to choose from, all at good prices. The best thing about the place is that it is convenient, especially coming in after a night of partying out on the town. The inside is an old school diner feel, with retro toys and what not.
