“Best Southern Cooking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

The little hole in the wall by far has the best cooking athens sould food has to offer. It offers food for taste regardless of race. The location is in the heart of town so parking is a bit weird but its worth the hassle to stop by and try there buffet line.Very cheap but delicious. Great service as well and clean environment~~~

“Best home cookin' in Athens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2011

There are some good home cookin' restaurants in Athens....Weaver D's, Peaches.
But if you have tried the rest, now try the best.
Food for the Soul is a hole in the wall. I drove past it for about 2 years before I had the courage to give it a try. It's a small unassuming building that's even smaller inside.
When you get your food you will probably be bumping elbows with the person next to you or behind you. There is a good selection of food on the buffet and you can get plates or all you can eat.
You can't beat the all you can eat. $10 including a drink and a desert!
All the food is great. All the southern favorites like fried chicken, fried pork chops, baked chicken, fried okra, mac & cheese...I could go on for a while.
All the employees are very friendly. The food is just fantastic.
You should definitely give it a try.
