Hotel Indigo is not inexpensive. But when you stay here, you get the level of service and care you pay for. Our rooms were spacious and exceptional, although with no carpeting and spartan decor be prepared for sound to reverberate around your room. Silently getting up and showering without waking your companion is not likely. The food service and bar are exceptional and Rusty, who is in charge of both, gets it and does an outstanding job. The breakfasts are priced quite reasonably and the outdoor space is a wonderful break - except during the oppressive heat of July and August. All in all, you won't be disappointed in your stay.

Room Tip: Penthouses are not much bigger than regular suites.

Very helpful front desk staff. Cool bar area and nice patio. The hotel is within about 2 blocks of downtown Athens, so it's easy to grab dinner without the need of a car. Parking in the hotel lot is an additional charge.

Ok, so this is my third time for business and I love this place. Convenient, easy to walk to and from most places, safe, affordable most times and pet friendly! What more can one ask for.
Comfortable beds, eco-friendly and decent sized bathroom with shower.
All rooms all floors are good.
Parking a bit limited and costs per night.

This latest addition to the hotel choices in Athens is terrific. Sizable rooms, expansive public areas, pleasant staff and contemporary styling make this an excellent choice for a weekend in Athens. There is a sense of freshness throughout the hotel that makes it the place to stay. Two bars (lobby and basement) are good places to gather for pre-dinner or post-festivities drinks and talk. Decent wine and beer choices will satsify a full range of tastes. Prices are higher than other hotels and The Indigo is a bit off the beaten path, but still is in the heart of Athens. Reserve a room well in advance for all Georgia home football games and expect to pay a premium for staying in town those weekends

My husband and I stayed overnight at Hotel Indigo for our 20th anniversary. We absolutely fell in love with this hotel. We don't live far from Athens and come downtown a few times a year but never even noticed this hotel before. My husband travels often for work and he loved the uniqueness of the hotel. The room was huge and beautiful (and usually I don't like modern style) and we loved the shower, the floor to ceiling windows, and the bed was very comfortable.

When we checked in, the front desk clerk was super friendly. As I saw there was a large wedding party there, I asked to make sure we were in a quiet room and he accomodated us in a corner room (beautiful views and very quiet). Because it was our anniversary, they sent up a complimentary bottle of wine of our choice. We also had complimentary breakfast in the morning which I thought was wonderful (my husband was a little less enthusiastic about it).

This hotel is close to everything in downtown Athens. We parked the car and walked everywhere. Definitely worth the slightly higher price of other local hotels.

This was the only hotel we were able to book for our two night stay for the sold out Jason Aldean concert at Sanford Stadium. The hotel has gone to the extreme of being "eco-friendly"! The lighting in the bathroom was poor, no exhaust fan and mold was in the shower area. The lobby smelled like a greasy spoon restaurant both mornings. We got back from the concert at 11:30pm and requested room service only to be told it was closed. We were in the bar area and saw take out containers being hand carried to guests, as well as an employee walking with her food.
This hotel certainly does not go out of it's way for it's guests. The noise level outside our door as well as the floor was quite noisy, almost like a dorm.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

We visited Athens in October for a house-hunting trip.

We again stayed at Hotel Indigo.

This hotel is well situated as a base of operations for the Athens area.

The lobby is very unique and interesting to look around. The Hotel also has extensive art on display.

During our stay, we had an opportunity to have breakfast in the lobby bar. It was OK but service was very slow. Only one person was working.

We had drinks in the evening while a football game was on. Even though it was crowded, we never had to wait for our beverages.

We recommend this hotel.
