“Funky and suprisingly -- and always delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

The cubano is so good -- so good that I fail to be adventurous and try anything else. The locale is strange, funky and wonderful.

The restaurant is located in a building that has seen places come and go, but Cali N Tito's has come and stayed. And for good reason.

They have a good system. Be forewarned: it's cash only. The place often has a line, but only because it is SO good. It is truly a dive and one with an excellent reputation. The food is creative, fresh and the seating is . . . non conventional. Varying picnic tables dispersed among aging playground equipment (the metal kind), fountains in old boats, etc. Funky bric-a-brac that works.

Highly recommended and another one of my reliable Athens food haunts.

“Too many students! Noisey street near tables”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

If you come here at 4-7 PM (bring your own beer, etc.) you order at register and pickup. It's mostly outside seating and fairly realistic Caribbean Island atmosphere for a roadside venue on the Islands. Food was not as good as what we had living in the Caribbean for 5 yrs. Worse problem is that you can not converse with friends because street noise is awful for most table places. Be careful not to pick a broken chair.

“Where Are We?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to try Cali N Tito's for a quick lunch while in Athens on business. So glad we did! What a fun, funky little place. The decor and the food was much like we have encountered in Mexico and the Caribbean, including the eclectic collection of sodas. Food was great! Service with a smile (order at the counter). Priced right. Fun and VERY casual. We'd definitely go back!

“Fun Atmosphere, Great Fresh Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

I love this funky, crazy little place! It was packed full of tacky, funky, fun stuff. The kids got a kick out of the parrot outside. Waiting in line in the dining room while watching everyone else eat was TORTURE! But the line moved fairly quickly considering how busy they were. BE READY TO ORDER when you get to the counter though...the line moves quickly because the lady taking your order isn't letting anybody take their sweet time! BYOB if you want alcohol--they don't serve it but you can pay a $2 fee to bring your own. We found a large picnic table outside next to the playground. Kids are welcome & so are dogs! Fried green plantains--DEE-LISH! Beef empanadas were crispy, hot & tasty. Fish tacos were my favorite EVER. We got the hot wings--they were hot & crispy and smothered in a delicious wing sauce! The red beans & rice were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. All of the food was fresh & hot and was delivered to our table quickly. We ordered a lot of food for 3 people for under $25. I will eat at Cali & Tito's every time I visit Athens. LOVED IT!

“Best Burrito in Town!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

I've been going here back when the owners called it Caliente Cab over on Tallasee Road. The lunch deals are the way to go. For $8, you can get a drink, side, and huge chicken burrito with more healthy veggies than any other place you know.
