“Authentic Honduran food but not all that”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I stayed at a decent hotel recently and the porter recommended El Patio when I asked for a recommendation for a good Honduran restaurant. A colleague from Honduras also recommended this establishment. The first thing that one sees is the size of the place. Very big. Our waitress was beautiful. The food is pricey but the serving is large. One thing that made my rating go down was the staff rearranging the seats and tables all around us while the restaurant wasn't that full. They then had a team meeting huddle next to our table. Of all the other empty tables they sat down next to us. They didnt bring our check when first asked. That may have done something to do with our complaint about their shrimp kabob. The shrimp tasted fishy and not too fresh. They disagreed and only asked us about it b/c I didn't want to take it home with the rest of the leftovers. Overall, nice place but beware the price and shrimp.

“Taste and Abundance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

A great local restaurant serving very good meat dishes. Lots of tasty side dishes and sauces. Meat portions were twice as much as could be eaten (Norteno), but all was very well prepared. Plan to share unless you're a major carnivore. Honduran flair in the open decor, musicians and overall style. A graet place for visitors to mix with the locals.

As a first time visitor to Honduras, my husband's family (they live there) took me to El Patio & I absolutely enjoyed their delicious food! The meat, beans, tortillas all were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting in Tegucigalpa!!

“Let's Celebrate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

If you have some money at the end of your trip, this is a great place to go for your last Honduran meal, but be prepared to spend $25 plus each. The food and atmosphere are worth every penny. Bring your camera and tums.
