If you have some money at the end of your trip, this is a great place to go for your last Honduran meal, but be prepared to spend $25 plus each. The food and atmosphere are worth every penny. Bring your camera and tums.

“Best Steak ever, great service”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I've been a regular customer of Restaurante El Patio for more than five years now, and it's never let me down. They're famous "Conquistador" steak is simply amazing, it's the best steak you'll ever eat. Service is perfect, with the waitreses dressed in Honduran folkloric clothes and always checking if you need something else. The atmosphere is cozy, you'll like it even more if you're on the mood to listen a few "mariachis". Visit El Patio, you won't be let down,

“Nice place for Plato Tipico!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

El Patio is a fun place to eat in Tegucigalpa! A very lively atmosphere with a world class mariachi band strolling the open air building. The food is tasty and most all meat choices are excellent. Portions are large and can easily be shared. The service is truly outstanding and English is widely understood, if not spoken. It is a truly festive place and it's delicious. Not to be missed is the mural on the back wall of the building, which used to be the entrance to the men's room. It's hilarious...don't miss it... Enjoy El Patio...one of our favorites!

“Truly Honduran”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

El Patio is the typical Honduran place to eat. The restaurant is in a large thatched roof structure with an open kitchen and lots of greenery. Tropical is the word here.

The food is great. Definitely, arrive with an appetite. You will NOT go away hungry. Portions are enough for you and a friend, or a good size take home plate. Meat is the main food here, and they know their stuff. But the menu is varied, and also contains chicken and seafood. Beef shish ka bob (pincho) is the specialty of the house, but is also served as a chicken or shrimp antree as well.

The atmosphere is friendly and family style, very down to earth. But you're as likely to be sitting next to the president of the central bank, as the guy next door. Everyone comes to this place for a good time and good eating.

Service can be sketchy, but only at really peak times, as the place fills to overflowing at times.

Evenings will sometimes see wandering musicians or dancers which make the place even more lively. A fun time is had by all here.

If you are a tourist you can not go away without visiting El Patio. You can sit and eat a great " Plato Tipico" and some nights listen to mariachis. Try Pupusas
