Hilton Princess San Pedro Sula
Ranked #1 of 37 Hotels in San Pedro Sula
Reviewed August 15, 2011

The Hilton is located on one of the main streets in SPS. It is a very clean and safe hotel, which maintains North American standards in an otherwise different world.

The pros:
- Good pool and deck area, well protected from everything
- good security
- large rooms with ac units that really work.

-cons:
- restaurant is limited in terms of menu
- tiny gym facility

Overall this is a great option in SPS. I would look at the Intercontinental as well, but not many others.

The Hilton Princess San Pedro Sula is everything you want or need a business hotel to be. The food is good, the pay-by-the-day internet is fast and the service is spot on. Prices are a bit high given the hotel's location (in an industrial city in Honduras). But I have no other complaints or concerns to report.

From the second I walked into the hotel, I received excellent service and attention from the hotel staff. They definitely surpassed my expectations. The hotel is very well maintained and well-staffed, unlike other similarly priced hotels I have stayed at in Central America. The secure underground parking is very convenient also. I experienced no problems during my three night stay, and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I came here during the first week of march on a business trip and everything was excellent except for a couple of details:

As always, the Hilton Hotel delivers a great location, service, and quality with this Hotel. The Hotel Princess is very well located and it is 2 blocks (<5 minute walk) from a big mall with movie theaters, shopping and restaurants. But you probably won't need to go there because the food in the restaurant is great (Gracias Carlos, the Chef!) and if you are only there for a couple of days you really don't need to go anywhere else.
The rooms and beds are great and comfortable, cleaned everyday as expected...the cleaning staff was very helpful and willing to help me with a couple of requests that I made while I was there. The only problem during my 7 day stay was that there was a group of about 60? kids that stayed in the hotel during a high school soccer championship, as a you can imagine, they were just slamming doors and playing soccer (IN THE HALL!), and eating outside their rooms all the time....not the best way to help you being productive. I had to call the security a couple of times: The hotel sent 2 guards that stayed in the floor for a couple of hours just to keep all these kids quiet and they did a wonderful job (as well as the cleaning staff). Other than that, the stay was great, quiet and as wonderful as you can expect from the Hilton. The executive room is located in the 5th floor and breakfast was provided free of charge; in the afternoons they also offer free sodas and snacks (from 5 pm - 9 pm) and charge about $2-3 dollars /beer or other type of drinks. I had small problems connecting to internet (I lost the connection continuously....5-6 times per hour) but the staff wasn't able to help me too much.....I guess it mas the router in my room???? Anyway, I tried to use the business center and just be aware that they will charge you if you want to use the computers there (Not what I expected ).

The hotel has a good outdoor pool and the patio is a great location if you want to smoke a cigar that you can buy in the hotel (Beware: they don't have humidors!). All the personnel in the hotels speaks English, so if you don't speak spanish you don't need to worry for anything. Also, you can get a taxi/private driver via the hotel (a safe way to drive around) and it will only cost you about $10 hour. If you don't have cash they are able to put the amount in your bill without any problem (but the driver will lost about 10% due to taxes, so try to tip him/her to compensate for this). This was my first visit to Honduras and I will definitely will stay here again in my future trips!

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the pool....

Spacious comfortable room and beds with a good bath and shower. Friendly staff and good breakfast. If your room faces the street it can be quite noisy.

Stayed as UK tourist in Dec 10. Experience does not resonanate with former negative comments which nearly put me off coming. My comments are,

Staff....friendly, helpful, bilingual.
Rooms.....clean, very good linen and beds.
Pool.....clean, good size, modern outdoor furniture and sofas.
Gym...new kit, clean.
$4 water? yes but its a Hilton. I got mine from gas station next door.
$150 + taxroom, $15 breakfast ? yes but its a Hilton. Actually most the prices in the neighbourhood restaurants e.g. applebees compare with America prices., its ridiculous to try and compare this western corridor's prices to rest of Honduras. There are cheaper hotel options so make your choice.
$6 wifi a bit necessary these days as this increasingly free.
My dinner was not good, ribs n chips served cold and reheated upon complaint which never works in my opinion. Plenty of good restaurants within 5 min walk.

I'm going to agree with "psmccready" who has been to a plethora of hotels in Honduras. This is a great hotel in San Pedro Sula. I had no problem with service, the rooms were clean comfortable and quite, the property well secure, and near a ton of restaurants and shopping. As a gringo, it was a perfect place for me. They also arranged for a day trip for me out to Copan. As an avid Hilton customer, I thought it was great. No, it's not the Dubrvonik Hilton, but it's a damn good hotel in general, and a FANTASTIC hotel in San Pedro Sula. In terms of "value for price" it's going to be up to the traveler. As a mono-lingual gringo, I felt truly safe and comfortable here. If you are more comfortable with Central American travel and speak Spanish, you can probably find something less expensive and something that might align better with your needs. On a side note, I did see the Intercontinental and Holiday Inn Express, and from the outside, those appeared to be nice locations as well.
