“Lovely staff and driver”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2011

We got picked up and dropped off by Oscar and he is super nice. We were looking for places to go on the first day of January and everything was closed. He drove us around looking for stores that may be open and did not charge us extra. Then, we were kindly welcomed by Alex at the Posada. He helped us with anything we needed. We felt safe staying there. We did get awaken by dogs barking non stop in the middle of the night. That was simply something we had to get used to. The AC did take a while to cool the room but it did get cooled.

La Posada was a very reasonably priced hostel in a safe neighborhood of SPS and they provide their own transport. We were able to walk to restaurants at the shopping area nearby and got a good night's sleep.

Be aware that this place is not a B and B the way we think of them in the US, it is much more like a hostel in terms of furnishings, etc. However, it is a good place to stay if you have a night in SPS before an early morning flight.

We chose this B&B b/c we arrived in San Pedro Sula at like 1 am and they picked us up from the airport for about the same as a taxi. The gentleman who picked us up was so nice and friendly....well, they all were! The room was very clean and had a/c, soap and towels. It was a very pretty building. Alex and his wife were so kind and so was the lovely woman who made us breakfast. The coffee was the best we had in Honduras! Wish we had more time to spend there but we had to be off to the bus station, which they brought us to for free.

For a first stop off the plane in San Pedro Sula, La Posada is an excellent choice. My hosts both spoke English, and were most helpful with my travel plans, both picking me up from SPS airport (for about the same cost as a taxi), and driving me to the bus station for the next leg of my trip.

The dorm I booked was not available, but they accomodated me by providing a single room for the same charge. Though there was no window, it was quite clean.

Judging by the layout of the rest of the house, most of the other, larger rooms have windows in each.

The back patio area was were I stayed mostly, enjoying the small pool and the hammock. I had two wonderful breakfasts (included in cost) while enjoying the weather or using the free wireless internet to check email.

Though a bit of a walk from the centre of the city, it is located near a mall and several interesting restaurants.

I would highly recommend this posada as a first or last stop if you plan to visit Honduras.

Stayed at La Posada with my spouse and friends during a 3 day convention from Oct 23-25 which, as it turns out, some of the other guests were attending.
La Posada is in a very nice area of San Pedro, and the B&B itself is very secure. It is a very well managed family run business.
Beds and rooms are clean with air conditioning. Each room has different bed arrangements, some are larger than others, with multiple beds. There is a kitchen for guest use. Variety of hot breakfast served everyday.
Alex, the owner, speaks English and was extremely accommodating and made our visit to San Pedro very enjoyable since we didn't have to worry about a thing. Communication via email was very prompt. The moment we stepped out of the airport he was right there waiting with an air-conditioned vehicle. He even stopped at the supermarket so that we could make some purchases. He answered all questions about SPS as well as arranged taxi services, etc.
Also, the housekeeper at La Posada is VERY honest and kind. She let us use her cellphone even though it costs money, and then she didn't want to accept reimbursement after we used up her minutes! (Of course we insisted!)
I recommend this B&B to all of my family and friends when they land in San Pedro and need a clean, secure and reasonably priced place to stay.

We happened to stay at La Posada, because three girls who traveled with us had a reservation and knew the hotel. As it was a weird situation- there was a curfew in place that evening and we didn`t even knew if we can make it to San Pedro. When we finally arrived we got a room (quite simple but clean) without problems and they even prepared dinner for us (as there was no way to go out that evening.) Breakfast (included) was good and Alex the owner gave us a free lift to the bus station the next morning. He also helped (in english) with information about our planned trip to Guatemala. So to sum it up:
It is definitely a great B&B for short or overnight stays in San Pedro, if you are on a budget. It is not too far from airport and bus station, so it´s ideal when you travel through San Pedro and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
