After two trips to Omega I cannot recommend it highly enough. The accommodation is great and caters for all, dormitories for backpackers on a budget and beautiful private cabins for those willing to splash out. The food is impeccable and diverse, the owners are German so there is some German themed cuisine so mix things up a bit.

Both trips we went rafting and although it does depend on the conditions of the river (1st visit the river was low, 2nd it was high), the rafting staff were able to pick locations and courses that made it awesome (and safe) each time. They introduce you to river swimming and rock jumping if they can too. If you have a GoPro camera some of the rafts and helmets have attachments for them. I have been rafting elsewhere in the world and this is the best i've encountered so far, the Rio Cangrehal is simply stunning and exciting in equal measure.

We also did the hike to the waterfall on Pico Bonito, a very sweaty and steep jungle trek but well worth it when you take a shower under the falls. Don't pay the $40 for a guide though, there is an easy path to follow and the entrance fee is just $7pp. The walks around the lodge itself are nice too (and free).

The rest of the time we were hanging by the 'no chlorine' pool and the bar with other guests and the staff. Speaking of the staff they were excellent! Super friendly, helpful and generally a pleasure to be around.

I have been living on Roatan island for the past year and its a very easy to catch the ferry to La Ceiba where Omega Tours can collect you (catch the 7am ferry and be there by 9:30am). Its a nice inexpensive two/three day trip from the island i would recommend highly.

A small piece of natural paradise...with no air conditioning provided or needed as we hung out by the pool or in Hammocks.

Day One: Hike to Bejuco waterfalls with Don Alejandro, swim in a Beautiful, clear pond under a falls
Day Two: three hours, 7 Km's of super-charged fun punching white water rafting on the Rio Cangrejal
Day Three: 4 hours on horseback through the villages and into the hills and a swim in a crystal clear pond.

Lunch and lodging included when you book a guided excursion, so my stay+fun cost between 50 and 80 USD per night.

Great food in the kitchen. Nicely stocked bar. Nice people!

We live in Roatan. My son is 15 and likes the beach, however he wants some great adventure once in a while. We discovered a great place for it near La Ceiba, mainland Honduras. White water rafting on Crab river in spanish Rio Cangrejal. From Roatan you can take a ferry or fly for about $26-32. Take one of the officially marked taxis ( or Omega tours can have one sent for you for about $25. Ride takes about 20 minutes through the city and then up the tropical mountain road. On the way you will see a high waterfall that you can hike to later if you wish. We were greeted by UDO and Sylvia the proprietors of the Omega tours. Their competent and Knowlegable staff takes over and takes you to the river. Then get on the raft after safety brefing and have fun.Water was about 78 F Not bad for mountain river. We did few 20 ft jumps along the way. After 2.5 hours of great fun we were heading back to the lodge and had a great lunch with fresh smoothies from tropical fruits. We stayed extra day so we can cross the suspension bridge and get up the mountain to the fall. Thank you Udo and Sylvia for creating a great adventure place.

Of our 10 day trip, our group agreed that our morning of white water rafting with the staff at Omega Tours was the most memorable experience! The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, skilled... they do a great job! Then, enjoy a delicious lunch back at their restaurant following your day of rafting down the river (we had spaghetti). The staff makes sure safety is #1... and walks you through all the procedures to have a safe and fun ride. Highly recommend using Omega Tours if you're in the area.

Omega tours offers several types of tours of Pico Bonito: rafting, horseback riding, hiking and much more. The staff is welcoming, experienced, and extremely friendly. The ecolodge offers various types of accomodations, from the most basic rooms to large, beautiful, sparklingly clean wooden apartments nested in the jungle. Rates vary accordingly. Food is prepared by locals. It is fresh, delicious, and is a great opportunity to try local flavours. We highly recommend this place.
