This pleasant little inn, a brief walk from town center, was a great choice. Convenient but quiet. The rooms are plain but comfortable. B-fast is served by very pleasant young women in a yard surrounded by a garden and a pleasant view. We met met some super-nice and interesting travelers at this inn--which was a great benefit to our trip. (I will try to factor this in when I select inns in the future: Medium-range, cozy places like this seem much more likely to have appealing fellow sojourners than top-notch places [on this trip we also stayed in a high-end nature lodge, Pico Bonito, and a fairly expensive diver's resort, Luna Beach in Roatan, and this inn was much more friendly--both staff and guests]). The owners provided very good advice on activities, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was very good and quite varied.

I have traveled to Copan more than 15 times for visits extending from 2 days to 7 months and I have stayed at the Casa de Cafe properties multiple times.

The rooms located inside the Casa de Cafe are spacious with high ceilings, nice bathrooms and quality and aesthetically pleasing furniture. The hammocks and tables in the beautifully landscaped courtyard make for a very enjoyable experience. The view from the Casa de Cafe is unmatched in all of Copan Ruinas. The hotel is located on the west end of the town and there is an uninterrupted view of the mountains to the west and into Guatemala. The breakfast is always amazing, whether it is the eggs, bread, pancakes, or fruit platter it is always superb and the coffee is always fresh, strong, and poured into generously sized cups.

The hostel portion of the hotel, Iguana Azul, is the best hostel in town in my opinion. It is the cleanest, most quiet, and best furnished. The windows are covered by bars so guests feel secure to sleep with the windows open allowing the cool Copan night breezes to freshen the room. Also, unlike other hostels that leave there guests on their own to explore, the owners Howard and Angela, are always available to offer advice and help. The showers and bathrooms at Iguana Azul are the best of the hostels as well. Copan often loses water during the summer months - this is normal - and even when the rest of the town is out of water the Casa de Cafe and Iguana Azul have water. Plus, there is good water pressure and hot water and the Casa de Cafe does NOT use electric showers which are found in most homes, hotels, and hostels in Central America.

There is always a night watchman on the property so I have always felt VERY safe here. I have stayed here many times and have never had anyone go through my things and I have never had even a penny stolen. This HAS happened to me at other hotels and apartments in Copan. The staff it seems is carefully chosen and the trustworthiness and politeness is clearly reflected in the staff. Not enough kind things can be said about the owners of Casa de Cafe. It is a wonderful family business. English and Spanish spoken.

The two rental houses that are available on the property are nothing short of immaculately cared for, architecturally beautiful, and quality places to stay. They are simply unmatched in Copan Ruinas and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Any North American or European person would feel like these houses were just like their homes but probably more lovely. Every convenience is there and the paintings and decorations provide a calm and wonderful environment.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Casa de Cafe is a beautiful small hotel, very conveniently located. It is a few blocks from the park, so it is very quiet, and has a great view from the garden. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Be advised that walking from the hotel to the center of town entails navigating some steep hills, so if you are mobility impaired, it might not be the best place to stay because there are not so many tuk-tuks available right at the hotel - which is why it's so nice and quiet ;) However, I'm sure Howard and Angela would be happy to call a cab for you.

Breakfast is yummy, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms and grounds were spotless! Free water, tea, and coffee are available all day, which is a nice touch. My friends and I all got a massage from their massage therapist in the lovely Bamboo Pavilion - for $25 for an hour, the massages cannot be beat! The hammocks are a great place to lay around and just soak in the beautiful and relaxing nature of the garden. Later on in our travels, we met some other people who had also stayed at Casa de Cafe, and we all agreed it was great. I highly recommend it!

My family and some friends stayed at Casa Copan B&B and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment we rented for 3 nights was immaculate, wonderfully decorated in a quiet neighborhood but very close to town. The Inn keepers' Howard and Angela were very helpful, informative about the town and where to eat and were very helpful. Breafkasts were delicious and varied. We left behind a pair of earrings which they have graciously mailed to us to our home in the US. We highly recommend this Inn which is a great value for the money.
