What an unexpected exquisite dining experience. Having traveled several times to Utila and enjoying the local fare, the Harbor House was a refreshing unique experience. Owners Henry and Victoria have really gone the extra mile, including hiring wonderful locals like Loretta that make this one of the must do's every time we are in Utila. From the moment you walk in you have the feeling of adventure and are greeted by the life size pirate that sets the atmosphere of being at sea. You are welcomed by the local jovial staff who will gladly whip up something quick in the cafe (including soft serve ice cream). Or you can choose to head upstairs to the restaurant and order the best food on the cay. The menu ranges from juicy hamburgers and veggie nachos to delicious fresh caught fish prepared with a local flare. While your food is being prepared you can wait on the balcony overlooking the sea where you can view the many fish swimming below including the beautiful spotted eagle rays. Do yourself a favor, while visiting Utila next time, take a little boat ride to Pigeon Cay and let Loretta and the girls show you this little diamond in the rough is truly a worth the trip.
