This is a nature park with something for everyone. It has a zip line that does require you to do the braking so not appropriate for all ages but the birds, plants, beach area and pirate experience are something to be enjoyed by all. Gumbalimba is very beautiful and a fun experience for the family. Sure to bring a smile and a laugh or two.

Lots of fun, very cool place. Would be great for the whole family. Loved the monkeys, iguanas, suspension bridge, parrots, Coxen hole museum. All of these were very fun and well done.

We made a reservation to visit and do the zip-line. They picked us up at our hotel, brought us to the top of the zip-line, then we zip-lined down to the main area. The zip line was more physically demanding than other zip-lines I have done in Honduras because you had to do the braking with your gloved hand (gloves supplied).

Down at the bottom we were given a tour of the animals, most of which are not caged but they stay around because they are fed. We held a monkey and a macaw. Beware: the monkey did pee on my son!

Then we wanted to eat at the restaurant and do the SnUBA diving, but to our surprise, everything was closed. Our guides left after the animal tour, and we were on our own in this little theme park. As it turn out, there are only other people there when a cruise ship is in town. So we had to walk down the beach to another resort to get food. Then we made arrangements with the security guard to come back another day without paying the admission charge to do the Snuba. We did swim a bit in the ocean and in the pool, which we had all to ourselves. The bathrooms were also closed. It was all a bit strange.

This is a petting zoo. We walked over a recently-made suspension bridge, touched some birds, touched some monkeys, looked at a fabricated "pirate" cave, and went into a bug museum (all are dead). We asked if we would have extra time to see the rest of the park, and were told that was it. Done. Unless you are interested in touching wildlife, don't bother.

We were disappointed in the park, reminded me of a tourist trap. Our guide was very nice though and I like the bus ride and viewing the area. This park is pretty much 100 percent man made, and there are no monkeys in Rotan so this is actually a pet zoo. I do think it would be a good attraction if you have children. I felt a little embarrassed when we went in the man made pirate cave and taking photos of the man made water fall, reminded me of a school field trip.
