We visited Gumbalimba Park as a Carnival cruise excursion. Our plans were to do the zip line ride & then tour the park & visit the monkeys. Unfortunately, it started pouring while we waited for the zip line. There was a long line of riders ahead of us - probably over 100 - and the rain was incredibly cold! Several families ended up asking for a bus ride back to the park and we opted out of the ride. I was very pleased with how quickly & nicely they dealt with our request to leave. Many people had goose bumps & chattering teeth.

When we got to the covered area, many people bought t-shirts for $10, and they were nice! The rain finally slowed down & we went on the guided tour.

You get to see the flowers, hummingbirds, an insectarium, murals about the history of Honduras, and more! Then, as we walked across a rope bridge, we saw macaws flying overhead!

We got to use our own cameras to take photos with a macaw on our shoulder or arm. And then we were happy to see the monkeys! A mama monkey and her baby sat on both me & my daughter. It was such a neat experience!

I was disappointed to find out these monkeys were not native to the island, however they do live on the mainland.

Overall, even without the zip line, this was a great experience!

For $16 bucks we got to see and hold super cute monkeys! How could you complain about that? They just hang out on your shoulders and head. Super cute! Just don't go w a sunburn cause it sort of hurts haha

We visited Gumbalimba park as an excursion from a Carnival Cruise. The tour was called Pirates Parrots and Monkeys ( in some order). We had an excellent tour guide, Teddy, who spent the time explaining things to us. We got to see a lot of birds and got our pictures taken with them. You could buy their pictures or take your own. After that, we went on to the monkeys. They were encouraged to sit on people's shoulders by being given sunflower seeds. We stayed here for a while and truly enjoyed ourselves.

After the scheduled tour, we had some time to go to the beach or walk around. We chose to go to the beach and snorkel a bit. We had our own mask and snorkel with us, There was a fellow on the beach who offered to take us out to the reef for "a tip" He got us fins and an inflatable vest for $5 (total for both of us) and took us out. He guided us past the boat lanes and out to the reef. We swam around for a while and saw an abundance of fish, coral and even a lobster!
Back on shore, we gave him his gear back and tipped him what we considered a very moderate amount ( but he considered a great tip) and were thrilled with our experience.

The park has refreshments available, clean restrooms and lockers to rent. A beautiful day on a beautiful island...what more could you want?

Was staying at the HM they came and picked us up front door service dropped us off on what I thought was the side of the road filled out some papers saying its my fault if I die Jk after that was done we were fitted with our gear and away we went out on the tree tops at first I wasn't sure if this is what I really wanted to do I guess with age you get something called fear, well that was gone out the window my first zip-line such a great time and the instructors that came with us were the best very friendly funny and helpful. After the zipline was done we headed to the park to see the Capuchin Monkeys and other animals the park has to offer.. Was worth every bit of the 55 dollars..

took a tour of the Gumbalimba Park as part of the Carnival Dream daily excursions, it was a nice easy way to spend the morning. The park has refreshments and snacks available, also lockers were available for $3 daily rental to keep belongings secure, along with bathrooms and changing facilities near the beach area. Tour of the animals, monkeys. parrots, insectarium, and manmade cave were informative and interesting. Grounds are very well kept and it's an easy walk around the park. Priates bridge is fun to cross and provides a nice photo. The ziplines overhead seemed to be very good and were being enjoyed by many (we did not participate), but it looked great. The beach was a bit of a diappointment, did not look particularly inviting, lots of trash and seaweed, and the grey sand was not what I thought for a Caribbean location. The park on the whole was worth visiting and a nice way to spend a day.
