We had a terrific time with the owners and crew of Radical Catamaran Adventures. They were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was incredible, not much sailing that day (no wind) but that made for even better snorkeling. Everything was taken care of for us including transportation to and from the port.

A wonderful day from start to finish!!! Julie, Ed & crew were welcoming & fantastic hosts...made us feel extremely welcome on this all day cruise to the east end of the island. There is plenty of room & shade on this large catamaran. We were served fresh banana muffins & peanut butter cookies upon arrival followed by pizza appetizers, fresh salsa & chips, & lunch (delicious chicken & shrimp kabobs, rice & salad). If you don't have your own snorkel gear, they have enough for all & will guide you in snorkeling the reefs & wreck....very safe. Do not miss this fantastic opportunity to visit the more uninhabited end of Roatan..

When booking our excursions we always try to get away from the crowds of the cruise boats so we usually book our own. While in Roatan we were fortunate enough to spend the day with Ed and Julie. A taxi picked all of us up at the port (there were 7 in our party) and drove us to the east side of the island. We were able to enjoy the views along the way. The night before had been very windy so we were a little nervous about the the boat ride but as soon as we were on the catamaran we were all comfortable and at ease. Throughout the day we were offered plenty of drinks, wonderful snacks and a delicious lunch. For the people in our group that had not snorkeled before, this was the perfect first experience for them. The two guides on the boat went in the water with us and were very helpful. They very carefully showed us ocean life like spider crabs and sea urchins. We had a wonderful lunch aboard the boat and then went swimming. I loved jumping off the front of the boat! It was a memorable day--filled with sailing, snorkeling, eating, drinking, swimming, and enjoying the excellent weather! Thank you Ed and Julie. We had an amazing time!!!

We sailed with Ed & Julie on their catamaran the SV Free Radical on Tuesday, March 26. We were 2 of 14 people (5 different unrelated groups who all booked independently) who were cruising on the Crown Princess. We usually like to book our own excursions, and we were really glad we did while here in Roatan.

Ed & Julie had a taxi pick up all of us outside the cruise port. The driver drove us out to the east side of Roatan to where the road ended. That's where Ed & Julie met us with the catamaran. Just after boarding, it started to rain. We all stayed dry except for Captain Ed. Fortunately, it only rained for 10-15 min. as we were motoring out to the snorkel spot.

On the way out, Shayna, their cook, served us warm, freshly baked pineapple muffins. There were also chips and homemade salsa, and a pizza bread for snacks throughout the morning. Julie also gave us a tour of their home (yes, they live onboard), and showed us where the restrooms were.

The day was warm but mostly cloudy. Despite the clouds, the snorkeling was still great. Manson and Alex, our guides, were in the water with us. They pointed out lots of things if you were in the area they were. They brought up several creatures (sea urchins, star fish, etc.) to show us. We had probably an hour or more to snorkel all over the area. It was so nice. No big crowds bumping into each other. You could get back on the catamaran whenever you wanted to.

When we got back on board, a great lunch had been prepared for us. We enjoyed the grilled chicken and shrimp kebabs, island rice, sweet and sour meatballs, Caesar salad, lots of different dipping sauces, and I'm sure other things (I think fruit). For dessert, throughout the day, there were cookies, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and banana cake with chocolate frosting. Beverages were available once we boarded in the morning, but their "specialty drink", their own version of a pina colada, was served after snorkeling. It was very good!

The crew put the sails up for our relaxing return trip, although we motored a little at the end to ensure we were back at the marina at the time Ed & Julie had told the taxi van to pick us up again. I think is was about 9:00 a.m. when we met the taxi driver, and around 2:30 or 3:00 when he dropped us back off at the port of Mahogany Bay. We needed to be back on board at 4:30, so we had time to do a little shopping before boarding the Crown Princess again.

The whole day was so relaxing. It was exactly what we were looking for. Ed, Julie, and all of their crew were so welcoming and hospitable. It was fun to hear all of their different stories about themselves and life on Roatan. We couldn't have asked for better sailing passengers either. Everyone who sailed with us that day were so nice. As my husband said, this was our best excursion ever! Thanks Ed & Julie! If we get back to Roatan, we hope to sail with you again.

Fabulous day with Julie and Ed on board the Spirit of Free Radical. Although the day we went out was rough seas until we got to Port Royal, the weather was fabulous and great snorkeling in Port Royal where the waters were calm, and aqua blue. We booked before we left Canada and there were only 2 other couples on board with us. So its was a nice small group of 10 including Julie and Ed and Manson and Sheyene. We had a lovely lunch cooked on board, snorkeled, you can fish if you want, or just get sun on the deck, lots of great places to sit on the catamaran. They provide snorkeling equipment and the catamaran is safe for children, when they have more people on board they have more deck hands to watch over everyone while snorkeling etc, very safe and secure.

Julie and Ed are wonderful with a great story about thier experience sailing around the world, as well you get to learn what it is like living as expats in Roatan(Julie and Ed are Canadian). We booked the 1/2 day (10-2) but they also offer a full day excursion. The drive to Oakridge is breath taking, about a $20 taxi ride rountrip from where we were staying for me the time flew by and I wish we had of booked the full day.
When we are back in Roatan we are definately booking with them again!
