“Charming island bungalow over the water”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

It is a long ride down tot eh east end of Roatan but it is a beautiful ride. A great way to see the island and the different cultures that live together here. When you get to the end of the very bumpy sandy road you will see it sitting out over the water. Empty conch shells line the deck leading tot he thatched roof hut that houses the restaurant and kitchen. jimmy and his wife and family are running all around, cooking, entertaining and answering the many questions that everyone has. The food is fresh out of the sea and cooked perfectly. I had the 2 lobster tail dinner with fried lion fish fingers and it was spectacular and only $15. I thought that I had died and gone to foodie heaven. I also had their world famous rum punch. Delish. Our out of town guest had the lion fish burritos($10) that were fantastic, hug and so creative. Another friend who is a hamburger freak ordered one of the largest that I have ever seen and he gulped it down saying that by far it was the best that he had eaten anywhere on the island. My friends raved about the food and claimed it was the best meal by far that they had on their vacation. I highly recommend this destination restaurant. Oh, and do not forget the home made coconut candy and key lime pie.

“There should be a 6th Star for La Sirena de Camp Bay”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

This is one the most exiting and authentic places in the Caribbean. It is one hour drive from the West End of the Island of Roatan to the East. Start with a de rigueur Rum Punch, then be prepared for the most delicious seafood in paradise even when the ´place is also called the Asylum.
Jimmy left a sophisticated life in Washington DC for a slower paced life where he loves and enjoys life and shares his vision with those who dare come for asylum.

Anything on the menu is great ...maybe even perfect.
I recommend lobster and lion fish.

“An absolute gem!”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We were staying near West End in Roatan and decided to rent a car for the day so we could check out Camp Bay beach and La Sirenia, which I'd read many good things about. It took about 2 hours to get there, the last 8 km being very slow on a dirt road, but it was totally worth it. (btw, there are signs all along the road leading you there so don't worry about having trouble finding it). We were the only ones there for lunch, which gave it more of an adventurous vibe, like we'd stumbled onto some hidden treasure in some lost corner of the world. The scenery is stunningly beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the lionfish ceviche, which was easily the best ceviche I've ever had, the lionfish burrito, fried bananas, key lime pie and coconut candies for dessert. Oh, and a rum punch. All highly recommended. They have a few "american" type foods on the menu, like burgers and chicken wings, but if you've made the effort to get to this place in one of the remotest parts of Roatan, why would you order a burger?? Go with the seafood, it is fresh and amazing. The owner stopped in during our meal and was super-friendly, telling us about how this place got started etc. Bottom line, not only is La Sirenia definitely worth a visit it you're going to the east end of the island, but in my opinion it's a whole reason to go out there in the first place.

“Absolutely amazing food and view!”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Been to Roatan twice...once in October 2011 and just this week, May 2013. We had such a great experience at La Sirena the first time that we made sure to go back for a second visit this go around. The food is beyond delicious...can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Try the sampler and the rum punch, yummy! It is definitely worth the drive, the scenery is also spectacular...so relaxing to sit over the ocean! You can even go snorkeling while there, so bring your gear! I would suggest getting there by 3pm, that way you have plenty of time to enjoy dinner, drinks and relax as the sun sets, it's beautiful!
