We booked a reef snorkeling excursion through shore excursions group online and could not be happier with that decision. A rep from the company picked us up and took us to their office where the boats were docked. We were given great gear and were taken out right away. Our snorkel guide was right there with us the whole time to point out all the awesome undersea critters that we wouldn't have noticed. The water was clear and after our two dives they allowed us to walk next door to a beautiful, uncrowded beachfront resort where we sat under an umbrella and admired the views. When we were ready to go back to our cruise ship they drove us right back and also stopped for a photo op at a scenic lookout of the island. They were all so nice and this turned out to be the perfect day. I highly recommend this company, they were awesome!

Six divers from novice to 200+ dives every need was met and then some. We had our own 6 pack boat that was spacious and well equipped.
Nelson and Maynor were great and adapted to each divers needs. This was the first ocean dive for 3 of our divers and they were assisted from the time they entered until we left. We even did a night dive which was great. The dive locations were different every dive. We will never look elsewhere while in Roatan. 100% satisfied with Subway. Do not hesitate to use them. Turquoise Bay even let us use their beach which was great for non divers an kids. Three more of our group also did a resort dive and will get certified thanks to Subway.

Located on property at Turquoise Bay Resort. I wrote a review on their page. Excellent property.

Subway Watersports is a comfortable, safe and enjoyable place to spend your vacation diving. We dove with them twice now, both times for a week, totaling over 40 dives. Each one is memorable and fun! While I have not dove with them off a cruise ship, I know they work with various cruiselines and would recommend them highly for a shore excursion.

Staff: Excellent staff. Their divemasters and boat captains are friendly knowledgeable, helpful and tend to your every need. True concierge level service! I cannot say enough about their staff.

Safety: O2 on every boat. Boats look well maintained. Everyone is a certified Dive Professional with years of experience. It's no wonder why so many budding divemasters and instructors choose Subway for attaining the certifications.

Facility: Clean and well organized. Actually, it is quite impressive. Lots of lockers to store your gear. Everything is WELL MAINTAINED.

Rental Gear: I brought my own gear. But it looks like the have some newer Mares gear for rental.

Diving. Diving is spectacular. Dive operation is very flexible to ensure guests get what they want and need out of their dive vacation. Make sure to check out Dolphin's Den and Grouper Alley. Two great sites on the North side of the Island!

We booked a two tank dive with Subway Watersports several weeks before our cruise on the Carnival Liberty. After researching local dive ops, we selected Subway due to price, nitrox availability, and provided transportation.

Booking was easy, and communications with Subway staff was fast and efficient. They answered e-mails promptly and were helpful with requested information.

Upon arrival at Mahogany Bay in Roatan, we had a short walk down the hill from the cruise terminal and were met by one of the Subway staff. She was initially surprised to see us, as apparently we weren't on her pickup list. I showed her our confirmation e-mail, and she assured us that there was no problem with our reservation. We also met two other divers from the Liberty. After a short wait for another diver (who ultimately never showed), we were driven about 20 minutes to the dive shop.

Once at the dive shop, we were introduced to our divemaster Selvin and boat captain Bruce. We analyzed our nitrox tanks and soon were underway aboard the Lady Rose.

Our dive sites selected for the day were "Turquoise Shannon" and "Sponge Wall." Our surface interval was spent back at the dive shop, where we could purchase drinks or snacks. Of the two sites, I think "Sponge Wall" was by far the best. Not only was "Sponge Wall" the best of our Roatan dives, but the best out of all of our dives on our cruise.

Subway staff was very cognizant of our time, and ensured that we got back to the cruise terminal on time. Even given this, though, we still "dove our tanks" and we not limited by any pre-determined time schedule.

We will definitely use Subway Watersports the next time we are in Roatan.

My daughter and I dove with Subway only one day on a recent diving trip to Roatan. While most of our diving was in West End, we had rented a car and found Subway while out exploring the island one day and were so impressed with the location and facility we booked a 2 tank dive for the following day.

The location is wonderful - located ½ way along the island on the North shore, it is well removed from other dive operators so, unlike West End diving, we were the only boat in the area and so didn't need to worry about running into other groups under water - which is something we experienced on every dive from West End (not that that was a problem, it was just nice to be diving out of the crowd).

The shore staff were great, the dock, rental gear and facilities excellent. The dive master & DMT's were friendly and professional. As a diver for many years (I certified long before most dive masters I've met in the past few years were born), one thing I really appreciated was that we were able to dive under our own direction. Prior to the dive, the dive master gave us a good briefing and outlined where we would dive, but once in the water let us work our own way along the wall at our own pace with the master and DMT's remaining in contact, but not actively leading. The only stipulations were that we turn once our air reached a certain point and didn't exceed our maximum bottom time. Any divers who used their air faster, were accompanied to the boat allowing the rest to continue to dive at their own pace.

The dive boat was well equipped and set up with capability for 2 simultaneous re-entries and the crew helpful and friendly.

A good day with great diving. On another trip I'd think very hard about basing in Turquoise Bay for the duration.
