All I can say is that I have no complaints about the hotel. The only thing that i can possibly complain about is that it was too hot, but hey its the beach so what do you expect?! The all inclusive drinks, snacks and food were great. I only stayed there for one day but it was good enough for me to wanna go back again and recommend it to anybody. You make the most out of your vacation, so if you are going to complain about petty little things, then its on you. For any gringos going down there, do your research first, don't expect the hotel to be bilingual....it should be but it's not, do your research!!!

This hotel was ok - certainly had its pros and cons. The pros: the food (all inclusive) is amazing! The buffets are excellent and great snacks are always available. The drinks are full-sized, unlike some all-inclusive place that serve dixie cup sized drinks, and there is no limit. The grounds are gorgeous and very clean. The Balinese massage right on the beach can't be missed! The staff at this hotel are wonderful. They are very accommodating and courteous.
The cons: the pools are beautiful but a little dirty. The rooms are the hotel's biggest problems are the rooms, which are fairly basic. The actual room was ok, but didn't have internet access. The lock to our patio didn't work, neither did the in-room safe. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment - it was very, very small and quite dingy. The shower was the smallest I've ever seen in any hotel, and upon our arrival, the bathroom wasn't very clean. The bathroom could have used a renovation for sure!

This was a great place to stay. The all inclusive was the best bet to me and well worth the money. Lots to see and do , or just to relax by the pool or beach.

The site is lovely, but it is far from town and there is no hotel shuttle. The town, anyway, is a pit. Of all the many places we visited in Guatemala, San Jose was the worst and felt uneasy for safety at night. This distance also means you are trapped in terms of meals. We were lucky to have a friend take us to the grocery store in town to stock up on breakfast lunch items first so we could get by the $40/day all inclusive cost. They do have an ala carte option, but the food from that was terrible and you end up equaling the buffet cost anyway. The buffets were pretty good. The lack of shuttle includes for the airport in Guatemala City. Expect to pay $80-100 each way. Staff needs better English. Even the front desk people are lacking. Hot tubs do not get or stay hot. There are plenty of sport facilities, but no gym. Expect the place to be busy on the weekends with the rich locals and then dead during the week. The beach is BEAUTIFUL. Horseback weekends only. ATV's weekends and then by request on weekdays. No other things like wave runners or kayaks. No spa but there is massage on the beach. My recommendation for "YES" on this place is only because there is lack of competition.
