I unexpectedly found myself in Xela due to a countrywide teachers strike. When I got off the bus and got in a cab, I asked the driver if he knew of a centrally located and affordable hotel for 2 nights. This was the first place he mentioned, and it looked good, so I got a room there. The evening concierge was lovely, and even walked me to the best breakfast place in Guatemala my first morning there. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and modern despite the suicide shower. I highly recommend this place for someone between budget/hostel and ritzy ends of the hotel spectrum.
