Did not stay overnight but enjoy a wonderful authentic Guatemalan meal. Service was excellent. Not overpriced. Beautiful botanical gardens bonsai and negative edge pool and deck. Beautiful view if Lake Atitlan and surrounding volcanos.

The pictures do not do this place justice. Just beautiful!
A peaceful haven 7 minutes from Pana.
The view was breathtaking of the lake and the volcanoes .
The hotel was unique and very tastefully decorated. Everywhere you look a feast for the eyes !
Delightful.
I had a great massage in my room by Carmen who did a great job. The front desk arranges it all for a reasonable price.
This was the last stop of our Caravan Tour which I also highly recommend. One of the best guided tours we have ever been on. All 42 of us , ages 5 to 83 had a great time.
A fabulous place !

you've read about the gardens and the views but what cant be emphasized enough is the pure serenity of being on the property (whether in your room, dining or poolside) and just looking out. there are few places like it. spent 3 nights here and could easily have been 3 months.
found the beds and linens to be great and had extremely restful sleeps, largely because...
were a family of 4 and are used to sharing 2 double beds. told initially, due to kids ages (10 and 14) that we needed a suite but subsequently that the suite had been double booked so we had to take 2 rooms each with 2 doubles. were given a great rate and as was our daughters birthday didn't argue the point and enjoyed the extra space. however we could easily have shared one room as we have done countless times around the world as the room was plenty big enough and had 2 large double beds.
that aside, staying at hotel Atitlan was total pleasure. just outside the dregs of pana and the perfect lakeside location.
do the ziptrek a block away. well worth it.

Room Tip: get a view!

Hotel Atitlan:
Do not expect air conditioning in the room, or a fancy and modern restroom, here you pay forthe view, the tranquility and the location.
The hotel is decorated traditionally, which makes the ambience special.
The TV in the room isvvery small and old, but if youn go to this place to watch TV you must be stupid.
You have lake views in every room, and spectacular gardens all around! Chess game in the garden, a beautiful pool by the lake with jacuzzi a mini zoo very close to the hotel and a place for butterflies !
WHO CARE FOR TV WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THIS.
The personnel is very friendly, nice atmosphere.
They arrange boat trips to the rest of the towns around the lake, but if you get to the city, you can arrange best prices negotiating with the locals and boat, owners.
The price for food at the hotel is OK. But the food is ok too, nothing spectacular, the breakfasts are good.
Again, you pay location, tranquility and view, It is WORTH the PRICE

Every corner, whether in the rooms or public areas is well taken care of, beautifully decorated in a local traditional design. The gardens are spectacular and the dining area and pool area have a magnificent site of the lake and the volcanoes surrounding it. The food is good and overall it was the best place we stayed in during our trip to Guatemala. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights. This is a piece of paradise. The rooms are comfortable according to Guatamala standards. Unlike some others reviewers, I do not expect all 5 star hotels in a developing country. My room over looked the lake, was peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and adequate in space. The garden is a masterpiece. Wandering through all the various sections is a surprise at every turn. The outdoor section of the restaurant over looked the lake. The bar is a very relaxing area for a libation or just to relax. The restaurant is adequate. Good but not memorable. Partly because we were on a group tour and some of our selections were limited. Most of the staff were very helpful. I would say the restaurant staff were the least hospitable. For example. Our meals were to include an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For one meal, between the two of us we only had one complete meal. They still insisted that we pay for our ice tea. There seemed to be no desire or authority to be accommodating. The hotel gets 5 stars, but the restaurant only 2.5.

We stayed three nights -- tremendous view of Lake Atitlan, great outdoor hot tub, incredible furnishings and art in the common areas -- all for a relatively low price. Beautiful nature preserve within walking distance. Quiet property, out of the way of the chaotic core of Panajachel. Food is solid, but not necessarily all that creative.
