Description: The Sunset Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants in Panajachel at the end of the main street over looking Lake Atitlan. It is perhaps the most well known restaurant in the town and I'm surprised it isn't on TA.

“Great location a bit overpriced”

Beautiful view, great place to have a drink. Food is not bad but a little over priced in comparison to similar restaurants.

“Good place to watch the sunset!”

Didn't eat here but what a great place to watch the sunset on the lake!

I cannot rate the quality of the food but the menu looked fine.

“Spectacular views of the sunset!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

We returned to this place several times...GREAT food, good drinks and incredible views. You know the food is good when you see lots of local people dining here. They also have live music several nights of the week. We had the best nachos of our entire trip and outstanding Guatemalan specialties.

“Still a great place to drink, dine or soak up the atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

I have been to the Sunset Cafe several times in the past several years and it continues to be a must-do stop on my visit to Pana. Yes, it is bit of a tourist trap, but I really don't mind. The drinks are very good and the food is excellent. The sunsets are amazing and if you come early, you can grab the seats on their patio. Friday and Saturday nights typically have live music and the atmosphere is always fun and welcoming. You get what you pay for, meaning this isn't the cheapest place in town. As a matter of fact, it is one of the most amazing. For a romantic dinner for two or for hosting a large party of hungry travelers, I would highly recommend Sunset Cafe.

“Tourist Trap”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

A great location, but poor in every way. Slow service (had to go up to the back of the restaurant and ask for our bill after a long time even by Guat standards). Average, way overpriced food. The super nachos for 55Q was barely a snack for one. And both of the beers I ordered came partially frozen. You would get twice everything for half the price if you walk a few hundred feet down the lake to all the restaurants and bars down the road. They are not at the end of the tourist street where it hits the lake, which is the only reason why this place gets business. Walk the extra couple minutes and be happy.
