We love the Hotel Paradise Inn! Great prices on beautiful rooms. The hotel is very near the shops and restaurants and seems to be on the quieter side of town. There is a rooftop with an incredible view of the lake and volcano. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and very accommodating. We love staying at the Hotel Paradise Inn and stay here every time we find ourselves in Panajachel.

My wife and I decided to do something different for our vacation this year, so we decided to go to panajachel. This beautifull hotel we found was a total gem, the customer service was top notch and made you feel at home. In conclusion, it was an outstanding experience and I am sure my wife and I will be back someday

I just stayed here for four nights. I wanted a hotel close to the beach that was quiet and I looked at several before choosing this hotel. Unlike the previous poster, I found my room to be immaculate. It was very large and I had a view of the lake from my room with large windows. It had cable TV - including the three networks out of Atlanta and the BBC channel. The restaurant did not seem to be open when I was there. At a price of 100 quetzales (about $12 US) for a single, I found it to be an exceptional value.

It's on a quiet street (Calle del Rio) that has no traffic at night and very little during the day. You go to the eastern end of the beach (close to where the boats go to Santiago Atitlan) and turn left on to Calle del Rio for about 25 yards. The whole area along the beach closes down after dark so if you come back late at night, you might want to just take a tuk tuk (the ubiquitous three-wheeled taxis) if you are walking back alone. One other piece of advice (and I find this useful whenever I travel in Central America), pack a 100 watt light bulb in an old yogurt container because the light bulbs over beds in many inexpensive hotels, including this one, are too dim to read.

It's about a 15 minute walk from Calle Santander. There is a parking lot if you have a vehicle. The room was cleaned daily and the used towels were changed daily also. There is a rooftop terrace overlooking the lake. All in all I was pleased with the hotel and would go back.

A friend booked this room for us without any checking it out with others in the area. It was an okay hotel room but I would not stay again. There were spiders in the room. The bathroom stunk of urine, there were stains on the floor. even after I got the cleaning lady in to clean it, it still stunk. The bedding was clean, the beds were comfortable. A friend who stayed in another room said they were awoken by footsteps in the room but don't know if someone had entered or not. The security is ok as you can park your vehicle in the courtyard. The views are amazing, I will give it that and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant in the courtyard is nice but I never actually saw anyone eating there. But there are scores of restaurants just up the street and we found one in particular that was excellent. Great price and great service. The food was excellent. it was called El Pescador. I would love to be able to drop in there for some great tortillas, steak and beer!
if you're just looking for someplace cheap but relatively clean, this is the place for you. great location and great sights.
