Our standards for restaurants have slowly declined while living in Guatemala. Coming from Dallas, TX, where there are many incredible restaurants, we've been quite disappointed overall with the food and service of the average Guatemalan restaurant. If your waiter even acknowledges you after you receive your food, you're lucky. Hacienda Real is different. The service was great and so was the food. They even had a kid's menu! Someone knows what they're doing, and it shows!
