I've stayed here for a few days in December 2013. Keeping in mind I stayed at the club floor, I can say the room was big, comfortable and nicely designed. The bathroom while small was great thanks to a deep and pampering bath tub one can enjoy for hours. All staff friendly, but most not speaking English. Receptionists were always helpful and patient. The hotel is located in a district of nice hotels, restaurants and modern shopping areas. Breakfasts are nice and generous, while other meals are OK but nothing special.
Overall, this hotel is great on functionality, basic services and reasonable pricing.

A quick overnight in GC - very close to the airport with a well-arranged hotel shuttle for $5. Staff was incredibly accommodating when I requested a change of rooms knowing that most offer balconies. Room service was fantastic and the risotto was perhaps some of the best I've had in Central America! Breakfast was buffet-style, but with an excellent offering and a hearty chef preparing eggs to order. Lastly, a 6pm extended check-out for $30 (when available of course) made my departure day so much less hectic and was greatly appreciated.

For the reasonable price, it's rare to find such luxury with added professionalism. Stand-outs were Fernanda (front desk), Cruz (concierge) and Diana (breakfast bar) - each of them a huge asset to this hotel and experts at making guests feel welcome and cared for.

our friend helped me to book this hotel with usd140 with tax, when i check in,i found price is usd94 exclude tax by tripadvisor.it means price is about usd120 with tax.i talked to the receipt and she promised to me usd120 is ok but from second day.when we check out,the hotel still charge us usd140 every night.the reason of hotel is that we didnˊt reserve hotel by tripadvisor,so they charge us usd140 per night.but the receipt didnˊt tell me thatwe have to reserve hotel by tripadvisor in advance.we stayed at this hotel four days.i think i will not stay that hotel again.

I am a business traveler and spend switch hotels every couple weeks - Of all the places I've stayed over the past year, nowhere has come close to the feeling of home I get at hotel Mercure.

First off, the room has a full kitchen, counter, bar stools, and a real living room with two big plush couches and a flatscreen tv. The beautiful wood coffee table and wood floors give it the feeling of a luxury home. The bedroom and bathroom keep with the luxury home theme, and the breakfast is great. The best part is all this is under $100 a night!

The downsides are that the mini bar snacks are laughably high; nearly $7 for a tiny can of Pringles? If management is reading this, if you lowered your prices for the mini bar, more people would use it and those that did wouldn't feel gouged. Also there is a $5 charge for wi-fi for your second device- seems a bit chintzy to charge for something that doesn't cost them anything.

Room Tip: I can't speak for the others, but I stayed in room 402 which was excellent!
