Stayed here for 1 night on the 6th of August as a stop over from Roatan Honduras to Tikal Temples. We arrived after a 15 hour bus ride from Honduras and were welcomed by the staff. Not only were the staff helpfull and very friendly this place is located close to the El Dorado and Fuerte Del Norte Bus Terminals just walking distance (5 minutes).

We usually stay at hostels but were very glad paying just a little extra to stay in comfort. The hotel is super quaint and cosy and has great security. Its also located in the old town zone 1 walking distance from some sites in the old town. Close to some local eateries also.

Deffinitely recommend this place. Did I mention the hot showers and the great wifi?

I have never had a better hotel in or outside the United States as the Posada Belen. It is very female friendly and perfect for long stays in Guatemala. I found the staff like family and it caused great pain to leave them behind. Francesca is an amazing lady, who owns the hotel and you will see her in and out, keeping great care to the needs of the clients and staff. While the hotel is in a zone that might concern most, I was there with 12 women and we had no problems whatsoever. So don't let that keep you from the warmth, the awesome food, the clean beds and serenity. It was close to the airport and central to everywhere we had to go in Guatemala. Thank you to Juan, Nilo, Francisco, Raphael, Maria, and Francesca!

This hotel is charming ,safe and very accommodating. The staff is friendly and caring. The decor is Mayan and gives you a true feeling of being in Guatemala. The indoor garden is a great quiet place to enjoy.

The front of the hotel gives you no indication what lies within!! Its like staying in an antique shop.We felt very secure and were warmly welcomed by staff. The home cooked food was delicious! Its only a 10 minute walk from the historical city centre. The tortoises were a bit of a suprise in the "indoor" garden.

The hotel is in an old house and it definitely has an antique feel to it. It's an interesting place and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I only stayed one night but I enjoyed it thoroughly and felt quite safe.

It's a short walk up to the main square and the shopping and sites on 6a Avenida, which was bustling on the Friday night that I arrived.

Room Tip: The rooms around the courtyard get some noise from the staff and guests. If you want a really quiet...

Posada Belen is an amazing home-away-from home. It is charming, clean, safe and quiet. The staff is friendly and caring, the food is home-cooked and delicious at each meal, the authentic Mayan decor sets the stage for your visit to Guatemala. It is walking distance to all the historic sites. I stayed 13 days and was absolutely thrilled with this little oasis in the centre of Guatemala City. Shaaron Lewis, Toronto, Canada

This lovely little courtyard hotel is not in the best neighborhood, but has the best hospitality. I was here for 3 nonconsecutive days, each time I came back they greeted me like an old friend and had hot chocolate for me. The best Guatemalan chocolate. The first day there, the desk person mistakenly collected an extra day rent. The owner called me the next time I came back and came in on a Sunday to refund my money. (I hadn't noticed the difference that is how honest they are) They arranged taxis to and from airports at early morning hours, even put taxi bill on hotel bill so I wouldn't be charged too much. and would be safe at all times. Arranged wonderful hotel in Atitlan, Hotel Cacique. The house has many museo type artificats that fill your eyes while sitting either in garden or dining room or passing in hallway. When my friend got "Monezuma's" revenge, arranged for MD to come to hotel. Gave MD certificate to Delta and not charged for changing flight. Wonderful caring people.

Room Tip: Any room around courtyard is clean and nice
