If you are in Guatemala on business and are used to exceptional cuisine from major cities around the world, Tamarindo's may not excite you and may not even live up to your expectations.
If you are on the cutting edge of Guatemala's restaurant scene, you may know of some newer places that have opened and have something better.
But, if you are in Guatemala and are tired of what is around your hotel in Zone 9 or 10, and yet you don't want to go exploring in other zones, Tamarindo's is an excellent option. It has inventive and colorful Asian fusion entrees, and the ambience is relaxing and classy.
The service and food are both very good, but it is pricy. Even given that less than excellent characterization, Tamarindo's deserves its four stars for providing something different and tasty among so many other more bland alternatives.
It is a nice place for a business dinner and could serve as a good site for a romantic date as well.
