What a nice place to stay. Quiet and lovely junglepaths. The birding is great, specially from the watchtower. The female host knows so much about the birds. She turned in a birder while living there. Very, very kind people, they made us feel at home.

I'd highly recommend the Farm Inn to anyone who is looking for relaxation, friendly management, lovely rooms and lovely food. We stayed for two night, having planned to stay for just one night. However, such is the tranquil nature of the hotel and the extensive jungle grounds that we stayed for an extra night. The rooms are very well equipped, spacious and full of charm. There really is no 'down side' to any aspect of the Farm Inn. We'll be going back!

The Farm Inn is one of the most delightful places we have had the fortune to visit.  Some words that help describe this jewel in the southern-Belize forest: vividly beautiful, relaxing, exotic, comfortable, down-home and friendly.  This was a long-awaited honeymoon for us, after 36 years of marriage.  When we planned this trip, the ‘nature-friendly’ description drew us to choose The Farm Inn for our first stop in Belize.  Respecting the native, natural aspects of the land is indeed a priority that is reflected in the farm and forest management.  From walking their beautiful nature trails, seeing and listening to the many birds, to enjoying their farm-fresh eggs, this nature-friendly management warmed our hearts more than words can say.  And what enjoyment to see gorgeous flowers, including orchids, flourishing everywhere. Colorful birds came to enjoy the surroundings right by where we sat for our meals.

Petro and Pieter, the resident managers, are warm and welcoming hosts.  They meet, greet and arrange things considerately and professionally -- but that's an understatement.  They create an atmosphere that is just right, with their sunny dispositions, their good relationships with all of the staff, and their knowledge of the farm and the inn.  Their work and their hearts are invested in The Farm Inn and its guests, and we felt safe and well-cared for as guests who were new to that part of the world.

Our room, the Montezuma Suite, was the perfect honeymoon spot.  We fell asleep easily, listening to the musical jungle stream flowing right below our private deck.  We were greeted each morning with beautiful birdsong. With the comfort we wanted, along with, like any real jungle experience, some water and electric conservation, our cheerful room exceeded our expectations.  All of the guest rooms are comfortable and lovely -- elegant simplicity -- a blend of beautifully artistic touches, with windows inviting one outside.

I could barely believe the exquisite food and its presentation, right in the forest -- tables set out by artists -- fresh fruit every morning with our breakfast -- balanced, abundant, pretty and tasty meals every time!  Overall, this was definitely the best eating I experienced during our 12-day trip in Belize.

The Farm Inn offers uniquely wonderful day trips -- ours were superb -- not only rich with new sights and sounds, but the people we interacted with are friendly and intelligent, and full of interesting knowledge they willingly shared with us.  The licensed guide, Silvano Sho (note licensed, which does make a difference) they use for the Blue Creek Jungle trip is a skilled, knowledgeable and gentlemanly man who is an absolute treasure-of-a guide to have if you're interested in really getting acquainted with the natural world of Belize forests.  On another trip, we were welcomed into the home of a Mayan woman who made us a traditional Mayan cacao drink from cacao beans roasted in her open-air kitchen, and hand-ground on an heirloom stone.  Yum! She also explained the longer process of how she makes chocolate.

To taste the wonders of southern Belize, we felt we could not have had a more wonderful visit. Our three nights there weren't nearly enough to enjoy all that The Farm Inn offers! Both of us want to return as soon as possible.

I can still hear the beautiful birds.  Birders, go to their bird-watching Palapa early -- it's awesome!  We already miss our new friends, Pieter and Petro!

Room Tip: Our tip: We saw all the rooms, and we think all of them are terrific; for instance, if my whole family came, some of them can be connected to make a wonderful group stay with shared common space! Great screens, but virtually no bugs! No A/C but that's ok as conservation is key here, and the nights are cool in the shaded, protected forest.

Enjoyed a fabulous five course dinner at The Farm. The hosts were wonderful, welcoming and extremely gracious. The grounds are beautiful and inviting. Candlelight dinner outside made fior a beautiful setting. Every course of the meal was inviting and a fusion of Belizian and South African (the hosts native land) favors. We come from a culinary family and take the preparation of a meal very seriously. Believe me when I say that this was one of the best meals I have eaten!!!! Wish we would have gone earlier in he day to enjoy the grounds and can't wait to stay at this wonderful Inn for a special weekend!
