My husband, 14-year-old twins and I loved our stay at BelCampo. Most of the people who work at the resort are from the local region and delight in teaching you about the local foods, activities, the farm, etc. .... We kayaked, hiked, experienced the local farms (spices, food, cocoa). It was a wonderful experience. And the lodge is beautifully designed with spacious, comfortable rooms. The food is delicious. And the staff is truly over the top ... Elan, Elvina, Dwayne, Nestor, Mark, Ducky, Melita - all were just wonderfully warm! This is a beautiful, well-managed property!

We loved everything about our stay at Belcampo Lodge - it is set in a breathtakingly beautiful location and is luxurious without being stuffy or pretentious. The cabins are spacious and very comfortable, with a screened porch so you can soak up the sights and sounds of the jungle from your hammock!

The food is consistently excellent - mostly sourced from the on-site farm. They also serve the best coffee I've ever had (and bring it to your room first thing in the morning). We went on a few tours, all of which were great fun, with very knowledgeable and friendly guides Desmond and Vince. Definitely also book into the spa - Miss Joyce gives amazing massages and has the most beautiful treatment room you are ever likely to see.

Belcampo Lodge isn't cheap, but the prices are justified - this is a really unique place to stay and all aspects of the lodge are very high quality. It was also great to spend time in this part of Belize, which felt a bit more off the beaten track than other places we visited.

My husband and I and our 5 year old daughter spent 6 nights and absolutely loved this place. The food--picked from the on-site organic farm--is incredible, the staff became lifelong friends, and the rooms are luxurious without being over done. All this in the middle of pristine jungle with howler monkeys, toucans, aracaris and all kinds of other wildlife all around. Where else can you eat a gourmet, organic meal while watching howler monkeys jump from tree to tree and toucans fly by?

Room Tip: All rooms are great

My wife and I stayed at the Belcampo for our Honeymoon this last April; we were married in Italy in July of 2012, but were unable to take our Honeymoon at that time because of work. We both spent a considerable amount of time looking for places, and just couldn’t find anything that hit all of our must haves; that is until I stumbled upon the Belcamp Belize. 30 seconds after viewing the photos, and reading a few reviews (many of which were posted right here to Trip Advisor), I said "this is it!”

We immediately contacted Belcampo and were put in touch with Shirleymae, the hotel manager. She was extremely polite, and accommodating in every regard. We let her know that it was our Honeymoon, and that (of course) we were looking for something very special. We also let her know that we were planning to travel to Ambergris Caye as well, but were having trouble contacting the hotel that we had chosen. She was so spectacular that she even contacted the hotel in Ambergris Caye herself, and made our reservation for us, and then sent us the confirmation! They also helped plan our trip, including making flight reservations for us to get from the Belize City to Punta Gorda, and then from Punta Gorda to Ambergris Caye, and then sent us all of the instructions and an itinerary.

From the moment we arrived in Punta Gorda they catered to our every need. Upon our arrival at the hotel (which we were brought to by the Belcampo Drivers who met us at the airstrip), we were greeted with chilled cotton towels infused with Eucalyptus, and a deliciously refreshing ginger drink. They then checked us in while sitting on the veranda, and presented us with complimentary stainless steel water-bottles.

The food… the food was spectacular and delicious. Everything was fresh, and almost all of it was cultivated organically right there on the Belcampo plantation. Breakfast, lunch, and diner were a delight every day. They delivered us coffee in individual French Presses to our bungalow in the mornings as well. I ordered the same thing for desert every night because it was so fantastic, the Mayan Chocolate Pudding. I highly recommend it to any chocolate lover.

The service there was absolutely, and unequivocally the best that we have ever experienced. Hotel staff would take us anywhere we wanted to go, at a moment’s notice, and they (Desmond, Chan and others) would even sit and chat with us while we relaxed and took in the jungle views. Of course point out the various tropical birds and animals through a spotting telescope. I’ve never been made to feel more welcome anywhere else.

The hotel grounds are immaculate, and our room was always kept spotless. The pool and spa were well kept and luxurious. Our room was large, and extremely comfortable. I feel that the white floors and linens complemented each other nicely. The shower deserves special mention. It is huge! The floor is hand laid pebbles, and there is a large window through which you may view the jungle while bathing. It’s just fantastic.

We went on 3 excursions while we were there: The Sunset River Cruise, Snorkeling with a Chef, and the Lubaantun-Blue Creek Maya Village Cave & Hiking Adventure. All of which were wonderful. I dove for Conch in the coral reef, and the Chef and Jack made a delicious ceviche out of it for us. We took the river cruise with a bottle of Proseco, and the guide who took us to the ruins and blue creek river-cave was very knowledgeable and friendly.

We will never forget the people at the Belcampo Lodge. They helped make our Honeymoon the most spectacular vacation either of us have ever had, and the experience was unforgettable. We cannot wait to go back there! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be off the beaten path; yet still have every luxury, and be pampered in every conceivable way .

Our thanks to the Belcampo Staff for a wonderful vacation!

We drove around Belize for 2 weeks and made the effort to go to Belcampo, which was well worth it. The setting is beautiful, the food excellent, the howler monkeys outside our room - loud but great to watch. I would like to say we went on tours from Belcampo, however aside from the farm tour on the property, we just relaxed and enjoyed the beauty. There are kayaks, bikes, fitness centre and swimming pool should you feel inclined. And if you are a runner there is an EXTREMELY steep hill after 5 runs up it - you can indulge in all the delicious food feeling no guilt.

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed pretty beautiful. How can you not love a room where the gigantic shower with...

We recently spent 5 days at Belcampo, and had an outstanding experience. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the airport, where we had been picked up by the hotel staff. We were given a brief orientation to the property that day. Later, we had a guided tour of the surrounding jungle and farm by a very knowledgeable member of the staff. Desmond had a vast knowledge of the flora and fauna, and of the workings of the farm. The hotel is located on a 12000 acre reserve, 1000 acres of which are in use for farming and the enjoyment of the guests. There are only 12 cabins. The food, which was delicious and very fresh, is sourced locally, mainly from the farm. We went on a two tank dive to Saparilla marine reserve. The diving was excellent, and had been arranged by Belcampo. A birdwatching tour was also on offer. This was also excellent. Chan seemed to recognize every bird by sight, call and behaviour. We treated ourselves to massage by Joyce, and read by the pool. Service was outstanding. Every member of the staff was very pleasant and engaging, and it was a pleasure to talk with them and learn about the locale, and Belize. We had a terrific time, and can't wait to return. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I spent one full week at the Belcampo Belize Lodge. Everything was fantastic, and even better than all of the TripAdvisor Reviews. The staff made us feel very special, and treated us like family. The property is very luxurious, and the rooms (and bathrooms) were extremely comfortable. The tour guides were excellent, notably Vince on the Cave Tour and taking us into town and showing us around.

In addition, the food and drink was the best we had ever had. We opted for the meal plan, which although in hindsight was much more food than we could ever eat, allowed us to sample virtually everything off of the menu. Dinner was never repeated in the 7 nights we were there, and the quality of the food & drink was superb. Hats off to everyone at Belcampo - this was the trip of a lifetime! Special thanks to Ducky, Vince, Mara, Anya, Chen, Desmond, Joyce, and everyone else who's name we forgotten that made this trip so very special.

Room Tip: Every room has a giant bathroom with a two headed shower overlooking the jungle.
