We spent two nights here to make a day trip to the Lamanai Ruins with an excellent guide named Ignacio. The hotel is a bit outdated but clean, you have free Wi-Fi access in the room and it’s very close to the river where the boat picks you up for the tour to the ruins. The rooms are very spacious but dark. Reception is friendly and helpful. They offer free coffee and bananas. Lots of mosquitos; bring loads of repellant! There was a nice restaurant just over the bridge that was open on Sunday evening!

Room Tip: We stayed in 3 rooms on the bottom floor. Have your shuttle drive down the driveway so that you don...

I stayed at St. Christopher's Hotel in July, 2013. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and the shower water was HOT, and the water pressure was excellent. Fridge in rooms, AC worked great, everyone there was friendly and helpful.

One word to Orange Walk Town: We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and everything was closed; even the restaurants and it was very difficult to find something to eat.

The US airforce were in Orange Walk when we stayed there, so there were very few rooms left in any of the hotels. We got the last room at St Christopher’s which was at the bottom of the main building. The room was huge, clean, had good wi fi and a decent bed. But it was dark, both of the ceilings fans were loud so we found it hard to sleep, and it was fairly dated. It definitely wasn’t that cheerful. But the grounds were quite nice with a river and benches at the bottom. If you go on a tour of Lamanai, they will pick you up from the river.

We stayed in the farthest portion of the hotel from the street portion on the 2nd floor facing their garden area. It was quiet, peaceful and had everything we needed: a good bed and a shower! Picnic tables below and treetop view of the birds in the area. The rooms were clean and large. A great spot if you are in Orange Walk to do the Lamanai River tour which we also highly recommend.

Room Tip: We were in the building behind the main office on the 2nd floor and found it quiet and restful.

This is as older hotel, run by a family. We found the rooms clean large and adequate for our needs. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and ready to accommodate our needs. We had booked a tour to mayan ruins south of the city, a tour that goes along the river. We were able to meet the tour at the river just outside the hotel area as arranged by the hotel staff. We would come back to this hotel if in the area again.

We only stayed here for one night as we were passing through to visit the Lamanai Mayan Ruins. The main pictire of the hotel does not do the hotel any justice at all. There is a spacious reception with free coffee and bananas, there is also free wifi. The rooms are large and comfortable and while they may not be the the most current decor everything was clean and tidy and well maintained and the beds were comfortable. The hotel has beautiful grounds and is set back on the banks of the New River. Our tour boat picked us up from the dock at the hotel when we went on our trip which was another bonus. This is a family run business and everyone we spoke to was very helpful and hospitable. I would definately recommend this hotel.
