We spent four nights here and sort of made it our base camp for exploring the area and it was a great experience. We arrived very early the first day and even though we had not officially checked in they still offered us free breakfast. That set the tone for the level of service you find here.

Any time we needed something the staff was friendly and able to take care of us. The room was small and basic but the A/C worked great and the wi-fi was strong so that is all we really needed. The area is quiet as well though shops and restaurants in the area do close up early so be warned.

I really wish all hotels had this level of service.

Room Tip: Room 300 is right at the top of the stairs and is at a great price.

The owners of this hotel were very friendly and helpful, both when I was emailing to book and arrange a day trip with them, and when we arrived.

The hotel is small and personal. The room was also quite small, but comfortable and functional.

Water and fruit are provided, and basic breakfast snacks. There was wifi in the room.

We booked the Lamanai trip through the hotel, and it was great.

The town is very small so everywhere is walking distance, so location is less of an issue. But it was on a quiet street close to the main street. It is the other side of town to the temporary bus station in use in April 2013, so that was a slightly longer walk then we'd anticipated, but very doable.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very helpful, the tours they offered were good. There was a minor flaw in the tour to the community baboon sanctuary. There is another local spot right before the real one run by 2 rasta brothers. We went there and had a good experience but it was not what we were suppose to do. When I let the staff know this they looked into it and gave me a discounted ride back to Belize City. Get dinner early because everything closes up pretty early unless you go to the same restaurant every night.

This hotel was the best hotel I visited during my travels all over the country...including stays in San Ignacio, Orange Walk and Punta Gorda. But even without comparing to any other hotel in the country, or elsewhere in the world, this place is simply fantastic. Very, very highly recommended for the ease with booking, the quality of the room and its furnishings, the fantastic staff, and just the 'magic' of this special place. While I would have rated the place as fantastic anyway, what a pleasant surprise it was that I wasn't charged for laundry done in-house because I was there on a Sunday and the normal service was closed. That gesture on the hotel's part says so much about its willingness to be helpful and accommodating, not to mention so much about *not* getting lost in a range of inevitable transactions and instead doing everything possible to make whatever happen.

We stayed here for 3 nights, on the second floor facing the parking area. The room was very clean, with A/C, wifi and a continental breakfast included. It was great at the end of the day to lounge on the deck area with a cold beer and re-visit the days events. The staff were excellent, assisting where they could when we had a car rental breakdown, arranging a Lamanai tour by boat and advising on dining options. Location is good, as you can readily walk most of the downtown from here.

One minor downside was a group of younger folks staying in the next tower that got very drunk and very vocal over the course of 2-3 hours one evening; they should have been given the boot however we understand the complications that may have caused!

We didn’t stay here, and so normally I wouldn’t comment. But we were so impressed with the staff that it felt only right to leave a review.

We arrived in Orange Walk at six o’clock in the morning after an overnight bus ride down from Mexico. With almost everywhere still closed, we needed to kill a couple of hours until we could do what we needed in town and then move on. Naturally we were keen to get breakfast and coffee but couldn’t find anywhere open; we stopped by at Hotel de la Funte to ask for suggestions, and they immediately insisted that we make use of their breakfast facilities for free.

As well as providing toast, fruit and coffee, the staff were hugely friendly, offering advice and suggestions for our time in Belize, looking after our bags when we went out, and arranging for a taxi driver for our onward journey. All of this was done without any suggestion of expecting payment.

It’s hard to review a hotel when you haven’t even seen a room, but if the attitude and approach of the staff are anything to go by, then this place has got to be pretty good.

This 3 story hotel is clean, modern and comes with A/C, free wifi, and continental breakfast. Our room was on the 3rd floor, with no elevator, but we didn't mind. There's a great view of the river behind the hotel from our floor. Our building was also off the street, so ask for a room in the back if you want quiet. The staff was very helpful, and organized our trip to Lamanai. Room 309 has a sliding door with a patio overlooking the New River.

Room Tip: Rooms in the building behind the office are much quieter, but if you can't climb stairs, be sure...
