These cabins are open and roomy, with beautiful wood floors and ceilings. Two bedrooms and a nice bathroom, make it convenient for families or for friends to share. The living area is large, big enough for us to have 8 of our friends doing kareoke in there one evening and it was not crowded!
It is very tropical, with lots of jungle and lush greenery along the roads. Being tropical, it also rained a few times while we were there, but even that was warm and pleasant. The metal roof on the cabin seemed to amplify the sound of the rain downpours at night, but it was exciting to hear. Then the water would be all soaked into the sandy ground in the morning.
They are a very short walk to beach, and the ocean water was so warm it was amazing! We drove down to the town of Placencia several times, and enjoyed how rustic and authentic it was. The people are very friendly and most speak English. There were several "night clubs" we went to, "The Tipsy Tuna" and "The Flying Pig" both had live music and great food. We really enjoyed our time there.
We also drove to some Mayan ruins and it was very interesting. An easy walking tour, with a small museum. This whole country is very beautiful and worth your time.
