Description: Mangos Belize is a locally owned bar and restaurant located in Maya Beach, Belize (20 minutes north of Placencia Village). It has been a local favorite for seventeen years and is known for being a great place to relax, meet new friends, tourists and locals alike. Our restaurant has a unique structure with great second story views of the Caribbean…ambience second to none! There are plenty of places to socialize, have some privacy, as well as rooms for private parties. We offer an assortment of culinary options ranging from American favorites to local Belizian fare. The key to Mangos is not just the fun atmosphere and ambience, but also its fantastic food. In addition, we’re pleased to announce that we now offer take-out, along with daily Happy Hour 2-5 pm. Under new management, we purposely kept our talented chefs and wait staff. Serving lunch and dinner from 12 pm – 10 pm daily! Come see what all the buzz is about!

Their smoothies are great. We ordered the fish and chips to share. We both ate into our fish and spat it out nearly at the same time! It tasted like ammonia. We asked the server what type of fish it was and were told it was red snapper. We should have sent it back and complained, but instead just finished our drinks and left.

Frank is your bartender and long time area chef. Frank is a Portuguese/Belizean with incredible recipes crafted over many years on the peninsula. Fish, chicken, ribs served over pasta or rice or garlic mashed are daily fare along with Specials that are special !!!!. Don't forget his great pizza and burgers, chicken Parmesan or fish sandwiches. Draft beer on tap with a lime slice.

Located in the heart of Maya Beach right on the beach, Mango's has good parking and lots of tables with great views. Known for its pizza, we tried it. The thin crust was smothered in tomato sauce with pepperoni and sausage. Delicious and big enough for 2 of us to split. Food flowed quickly out of the kitchen. Service was great and attentive. We actually bicycled from Placencia Village taking about 1hour and Mango's didn't disappoint. We'll be back.

This place has a neighborhood bar feel. The pizza and beer were great. The lemon pie was different than in the states but very tasty.

While staying at Maya Beach on the peninsula in Belize called Placencia for the month of January, 2013, I found this great, funky restaurant just a short bike ride from my rented home. Given it's proximity and its location right on the beach, I went there for my daily swims and ate many meals in what began to feel like a second home. The owners, Frank & Cheryl, supported by a conscientious staff always busily serving a steady clientele, made me feel like I was part of the Mango family. I highly recommend the great caesar salad and their pizzas. You have a good choice of seating inside or under their thatched roof -all with splendid panoramic vistas of the Caribbean sea. Getting to know the friendly people there became a highlight of my stay. One tip for the traveler: If you are a non-smoker like me, first note which way the breeze is blowing and find a seat as far upwind as possible to avoid the smell of cigarettes. Belize has not yet caught up with many countries that prohibit smoking in restaurants. Still, staff will of course assist at Mango's with a request to be seated where its least likely you will be bothered by that. They are open daily from noon until whenever the place empties, closed on Tuesdays. Don't forget to taste their deserts!
