We went on a snorkeling trip with Shane at Pirates Point, and had a fantastic day exploring the Cayes. Shane is a brilliant tour guide, really knows the area and found perfect areas to snorkel amongst easily accessible coral. We also got to watch him catch our lobster lunch! We'd highly recommend taking a trip with Shane. We ended up out there longer than expected so don't go on a day when you're short of time - you won't want to come back early.

Shane was super! He is a very caring, attentive person who gave us our moneys worth plus. He took 4 of us to 3 snorkeling spots on the inner reef for a very good price. The 1st two snorkels were awesome. The last spot was at a small caye his uncle owns where he cooked us lunch. He had caught lobsters, a crab, conch while we snorkeled, andhe brought some shrimp and potatoes with veggies. All he cooked on a fire in the cookhouse and it was delicious. He used to own a restaurant and loves to cook. The only drawback is the island is a bit trashy. But we had lots of fun. Played basketball while he prepared lunch. Snorkeled to our hearts content. It was a very good day for a very good price. I would not hesitate to do a tour with Shane again.

My wife and a couple of our friends travel to Placencia in Oct. 2013. We were on our way to a bar called Barefoot when we ran into Shane from Pirates Point Adventure Tours. We stopped and asked him a few questions about some of the tours he recommend that we do. While he explained the tours to us he also mentioned that he was born in Belize and then moved to San Diego when he was a child, then moved back to start his own business in Placencia. We are so glad that he did. He really made our trip from ordinary to extraordinary. We had planned to simply do some tours from our Hotel (Roberts Grove). In using Shane we got a very personal tour of what he calls Island Hopping. We hopped from Caye to Caye snorkeling in the most beautiful snorkeling areas I've ever been too. In the mean time he was spearing Lobster, Fish and Crab for our meals in which he provided. We then spent the night over at Tobacco Caye and continued the next morning snorkeling more amazing places all the back to Placencia that afternoon. Highly recommend the overnight Island Hopping adventure.

We also did the waterfall/Horseback riding adventure and the waterfall adventure was awesome. I climb up the side of the waterfall and jumped in the cool spring water from about 20 ft. high!! Talk about an adrenaline rush!!

More than anything Shane is a super cool dude who is very knowledgeable about Placencia. He is always concerned about your well being. I feel like I've gained a very good friend along the way, and can't wait to visit him again...

I recently traveled to Placencia with my two daughters (18 & 20). They had never been snorkeling before but wanted to try. I was concerned about finding the right trip for beginners. We found Pirates Point while walking down the sidewalk in Placencia. As soon as we met Shane and his team we knew the trip would be great. I explained to him that we wanted to go out and see some of the surrounding islands and try snorkeling. We were not interested in an expert dive. He assured us that he knew exactly what we were looking for and he definitely delivered. We loaded in a small 28ft fishing boat with 3 other people and another guide in training (Orlando) 8 total people. We proceeded to a small island about 25 minutes away where we could step right in and out of the boat. Three of the people with us were experienced snorkelers. They went with Shane out a ways from the island and Orlando stayed close to my daughters and I by a small reef. After a couple of hours we left and went to a couple of other islands. Each time Shane & Orlando made sure everyone in the group had everything they needed. One of the stops was on a private island where they prepared food that they had caught while we were snorkeling. They started a fire with the wood on the island cleaned the fish, lobster & crab. Wrapped in aluminum foil and steamed it right on the spot. They also prepared pasta salad and cheese potatoes along with chicken they had brought just in case the catch was not good. The food was great. The trip could not have been better. The price was also the best we found. Pirates Point gets 5 stars from us. It was one of the best days ever. You can't go wrong booking a trip with Shane and Orlando. They tailor the trip to whatever you want. If you see them, tell them Scott. Taylor & Haley said hi.
