Description: Above Grounds Coffee has established a direct connection with small independent farmers in Guatemala. Hand-picked, processed & roasted by small family operations. Their 100% mountain grown and 100% Arabica coffee beans are shade grown, hand-picked and then processed to organic standards. All fields meet elevation requirements for Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) grade and some meet the Fancy (F) grade. These two top grades (Fancy and SHB) total less than 2.5% off all coffee produced globally!

“a proper cup of coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

one of my enduring memories of Belize will be of the daily struggle to find a half decent cup of coffee of a morning; for most of the 3 weeks or so i spent in the country i was obliged to make do with very poor approximations of what is expected of a good cup.
Keith changed all that. no more of those dainty little cups of the type grandma uses to entertain her friends, half full of a tepid tan-coloured liquid reminiscent of urine; he provides good sized servings of sufficient strength to kick start even the most sluggish of metabolisms, good conversation and a delightful setting in which to enjoy both.
there is also wifi, reading material, a lethargic dog, birds, squirrels and some foodstuffs available.

“Nice setting, good location and wifi, great coffee drinks”

I stopped at Above Grounds a few times to enjoy an iced mocha and use their wifi. I enjoyed the setting and the huge tree that shades the place - recommended.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

Ya, it's a coffee shop in a tree, but the breakfast pastries were stale and the coffee wasn't anything you can't get your local coffee shop. Charming, but nothing special.

“Coffee Treehouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012

Not only did Keith, the proprietor of Above Grounds, steal my dream of owning and operating my own quaint coffeeshop, but he went and did it in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and he built it in a house on stilts surrounded by palm trees. Radical. Look up and keep your eyes peeled for the bright yellow house on stilts. Yummy pastries are sometimes available, great coffee, true espresso. Can you say coconut milk lattes? Stay long enough and I am sure you will meet some interesting folks, and maybe a young girl with fresh donuts will drop by if you are lucky.
